bylaws.
a. Article 3: The Committee shall consist of eight (8) regular
voting members and one (1) alternate. The alternate shall
attend all meetings and shall have voting privileges in the
absence of a voting member. In the event of a vacancy by a
regular voting member, the alternate shall become a regular

b. Article 6: Each member shall be an active, weekly participant
in the senior program citizen of the City of Friendswood,
representing any segment of the community.
c. Article 9: The members shall serve two (2) three (3) year terms
with a maximum of two (2) consecutive terms. A member may
be reappointed to the Board if he/she quits the position for one
three (3) year term after serving two (2) consecutive terms or by
a unanimous vote by the committee.
8. Report from Recreation Coordinator: The reason for stopping the
mailing of the newsletter was to cut some expenses. We were
printing and mailing over 800 newsletters every other month. We will
be able to better use the money on other resources for the center.
Last month tint was put on the top windows; we were able to get it
done for $700. There has been a lot of discussion about a possible
bond election. As of now information and studies are being gathered.
Everything is in the beginning and lanning phase.
9. Comments made by the Public: None
10. Comments made by the Committee Members: Concerns were made
about the newsletter not being mailed out anymore. If someone is
unable to access the internet or come to the center, they need to call
the center and we can add them to our mailing list. Also, we will have
copies of the newsletter at the center. More announcements need to
be made about special events and flyers need to be passed out. There
is no tax assistance at the hangar. You can get AARP Tax Assistance
at the Alvin Library, Pasadena Library, and Pearland Library.
11. Adjournment at 10:06 am.
