discussion to have the picnic at the Activity Building, but it was
decided to keep it at Stevenson Park.
6. Discussion and possible actions regarding the Health Fair: Tuesday,
October 21, 2014 from 10:00am – 1:00pm. We will provide lunch for
our vendors. Genie has contacted everyone and there have been many
responses back to attend.
7. Report on the Casino Extravaganza: There were 177 people in
attendance. There was a suggestion to have more tables, possibly
having tables in the conference rooms, and have a Texas Hold’em
tables.
8. Report on the Christmas in September: There was a good crowd on
Friday, but Saturday was slow. Suggestions for next year marketing:
Marquees in town, flyers in bags at Sonic, large sign across 518 at
Stevenson Park. There were comments that there was a lot of jewelry
and they would like to see more home décor vendors.
9. Discussion and possible actions regarding the Budget and Purchasing:
Read and Reviewed: purchased kitchen supplies, microwave, and
podium.
10. Report from Recreation Superintendent: None
11. Comments made by the Public: Put a recycle sign on the recycle bin
and use lid to cover the bin. Glass doors are still hard to open and
close, have Cel put in a work order.
12. Comments made by the Committee Members: IF we are going to
have the sidewalk in the back put in the back of the building, we need
to have a buzzer or camera put in. The back door remains locked and
people would not be able to get in. Also, the cameras allow for the
staff to see who is coming and going out the back door. Irma made a
motion to allow food and drinks in the conference rooms for the
participants of the senior center. We will now allow food and drinks
in the rooms for the senior center participants. Rental groups will not
be allowed.
13. Adjournment at 9:58 am.
