REGULAR MEETING
Senior Citizens Advisory Committee
October, 2018
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, this was held
at the Activity Building in Meeting Room D at 9:00 a.m. on October 2018 with all board
members present, constitutes a quorum:
Committee Members:
Ms. Nancy Mastrofrancesco, Chair
Ms. Kay Griffin, Vice Chair
Ms. Frankie Santoro, Member
Mr. Dennis Rundell, Regular Member
Ms. Yolanda Robles, Regular Member
Ms. Dorothy Montz, Regular Member
Ms. Vickie Hefner, Alternate

The following items were discussed:
1. Ms. Nancy Mastrofrancesco called the meeting to order at 9:05am.
2. The invocation was given by Ms. Mona Palmer.
3. The September 11, 2018 minutes were approved.
a. Item #4: remove Doris Ochoa from attendance
b. Item #10: add 127 in attendance at event.
4. Discussion and possible actions regarding voting for the new Committee Members:
a. Bylaws Reviews, 8 regular members, 1 alternate, active participant of the
senior center.
b. In November five (Nancy Mastrofrancesco, Dorothy Montz, Yolanda Robles,
Dennis Rundell, Frankie Santoro) terms are expiring; one member, Klay
Griffin, is resigning. Interested participants, Mary Dornan, Charlene
Mizener, David O’Brien, and Rachel Pinto).
c. Returning Members: Nancy Mastrofrancesco, Dorothy Montz, Yolanda
Robles, and Dennis Rundell.
d. New Members: David O’Brien and Charlene Mizener
5. Discussion and possible actions regarding the upcoming trips and events:
a. Monday, November 5, 2018, Wal Mart, 9:30 to 11:00am, free trip; Friday,
November 11, 2018, Pasadena Opry, 5:30 to 10:00pm, $12 per person;
Monday, November 19, 2018, Breakfast at Joe’s and Froberg’s, 8:30am to
12:00pm, free trip, breakfast is on your own; Thursday, November 29, 2018,
Lone Star Flight Museum, 9:30am to 2:00pm, $12 per person, lunch on your
own at Fuddruckers.
b. Tuesday, November 6, 2018, Recorder/Ukulele Performance, 10:30am to
11:30am; Wednesday, November 7, 2018, Cooking 101, 10:30 – 11:030am,
Thursday, November 8, 2018, Veterans Day Luncheon, 11:00am to 1:00pm;
Wednesday, November 14, 2018, 2018, Cooking 101, 10:30 – 11:30pm;
Wednesday, November 14, 2018, Wii Bowling, 1:00 to 3:00pm; Thursday,
November 15, 2018, Thanksgiving Potluck, 11:00am – 1:00pm; Wednesday,
November 28, 2018, Bingo, 1:00 to 3:00pm.
6. Discussion and possible actions regarding the Budget and Purchasing:
Read and Reviewed.
7. Discussion and possible action regarding the Veterans Day Luncheon: Thursday,
November 8, 2018 from 11am to 1pm, Shalini Poore will sponsor the food, Amada
will sponsor the cookies. We will get the food from Gina’s, they will charge us
$300.
8. Discussion and possible action regarding the Volunteer Luncheon: Tuesday,
November 13, 2018, either at Ranchos’s Mexican Restaurant or Gina’s Italian
Kitchen, Genie will call to see about availability.
9. Discussion and possible action regarding the Thanksgiving Potluck: Thursday,
November 15, 2018 from 11am to 1pm, waiting to hear back from Jeter to see if
they will sponsor the turkey, dressing, gravy and rolls.
10. Report on the Christmas in September: We had 42 vendors, almost 500 people
came through the building. Great turnout and most vendors are looking forward to
coming back. Consider doing a stamp card for visitors to visit different booths.
11. Report from Assistant Director: Council approved new pool restrooms at Stevenson
Park. New software will include online registration.
