REGULAR MEETING
Senior Citizens Advisory Committee
February 13, 2018
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, this
was held at the Activity Building in Meeting Room D at 9:00 a.m. on
February 13, 2018 with all board members present, constitutes a quorum:
Committee Members:
Ms. Nancy Mastrofrancesco, Chair
Ms. Frankie Santoro, Member
Ms. Kay Griffin, Member
Ms. Doris Ochoa, Regular Member
Ms. Yolanda Robles, Regular Member
Mr. Dennis Rundell, Regular Member
Ms. Mona Palmer, Regular Member
Ms. Dorothy Montz, Regular Member
Ms. Vickie Hefner, Alternate
Staff/ Liaison:
Genie Balderaz, Senior Program Manager
Jamie Eubanks, Assistant Program Manager
Michael Boyett, Recreation Superintendent

The following items were discussed:
1. Ms. Nancy Mastrofrancesco called the meeting to order at 9:00am.
2. The invocation was given by Ms. Kay Griffin.
3. The January 9, 2018 minutes were approved.
4. Discussion and possible actions regarding the upcoming trips and events:
a. Monday, March 5, 2018, Wal Mart, 9:30 to 11:00am, free trip;
Thursday, March 8, 2018, The Discovery Garden, 9:15am to 3:00pm,
$5 per person, lunch on your own at Cracker Barrell; Thursday,
March 20, 2018 Coushatta, 8am to 8pm, Cost: $10 per person;
Wednesday, March 28, 2018, The Printing Museum, 9:00am to
3:00pm, $10 per person, lunch on your own at Luby’s.
b. Thursday, March 8, 2018, AARP Driver Safety Course, 9:30am to
1:30pm; Wednesday, March 14, 2018, Wii Bowling Tournament, 1:00
to 3:00pm; Thursday 15, 2018, Spaghetti Luncheon, 11:00am to
1:00pm, sponsored by Jeter Memorial Funeral Home; Thursday,
March 22, 2018, Guest Speaker: Todd Maguire, 11:00am to 12:00pm;
Monday, March 26, 2018, Monday Movie Matinee, 1:00 to 3:00pm;
Wednesday, March 28, 2018 Bingo, 1:00 to 3:00pm, sponsored by
Apostle Home Health.
5. Discussion and possible actions regarding the Budget and Purchasing: Read
and Reviewed. Michael will get a quote for a screen and projector.
6. Discussion and possible action regarding the Spaghetti Luncheon:
Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 11am to 1pm. Gina’s will charge us $300 to
feed 200 people, we will get a sponsor for the desserts. We will need help
from the committee passing out flyers to the community.
7. Report from the Valentine’s Day Luncheon: No discussion.
8. Report from Recreation Superintendent: Old City Park designs are together
for the dog park, parking lot and drive go out for bid, plan to start in
April/May, completion in September. Daddy Daughter Dance will be held
on February 17, if you are volunteering be there by 3pm. We will be
switching to a new website layout.
9. Comments made by the Public: Councilman Mike Foreman, approval of
credit card fees.
10. Comments made by the Committee Members: When there are building
closures send out email blast to notify all seniors.
11. Adjournment at 9:54 am.
