These chairs would also be used during special event, however, the purchase may have to be done at the end of the fiscal year, pending funds available due to the chairs quote of approximately $1800. 6. Reports A. Volunteer Luncheon Report The Senior Program Manager Genie Balderaz reported that there were 25 people in attendance. It was suggested that the spouses of volunteers should purchase their own meals if they plan on coming to future luncheons. Some of the volunteers in attendance also mentioned how everyone was too crowded and party size should be considered in the future. Committee Member Dorothy Montz suggested the date of the Volunteer Luncheon should be changed to a different time of the year. Having the luncheon in the month of November is difficult for some due to the holidays. After discussing other potential dates, most agreed that January would be a better month to have the luncheon. A luncheon would be skipped in 2020 to start each January in 2021. B. Thanksgiving Potluck Report The Senior Program Manager Genie Balderaz reported that there was a great turnout for the event. Of those that attended, many were new and submitted membership applications after the event. It was also reported that there was a lot of food left over, specifically desserts. Since the event is potluck, it is difficult to control the amount of desserts people bring, however it was suggested that a large signup poster could be used so that it is easier to see what items people have already volunteered to bring. C. Assistant Director’s Report The Assistant Director Michael Boyett reported that the department had 324 people register to participate in the 2019 Fun Run. Though the final revenue numbers were still pending, it seems that this year generated the most profit for parks. Once the numbers are finalized, the department will discuss where the funds would be best utilized. The Assistant Director Michael Boyett mentioned that the Santa in the Park event would be held at Stevenson Park on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A few things to expect are pictures with Santa, a performance from The Voice winner Sarah Grace, a giant snow hill and pictures with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The Assistant Director Michael Boyett reported that a concrete path was poured at the Merrywood side of the Dog Park, from the pedestrian entrance of the new fence to the Dog Park. This was due to multiple complaints of having to walk on the grass or through mud to get to the dog park. 7. Comments Committee Member Mona Palmer suggested staff add more acknowledgments for sponsors during the events. Committee Member Dennis Rundell asked if it was possible to get quotes to soundproof the building. He suggested a new foam that could be sprayed in between the walls. Most committee members felt that doing this would be waste of mo ney considering the poor condition of the building. Assistant Director Michael Boyett stated he would get quotes to see if it would be financially worthwhile. 8. Adjournment Committee Member Mona Palmer moved to adjourn the meeting and several others seconded. This meeting was adjourned at 9:45 am.
