REGULAR MEETING
Senior Citizens Advisory Committee
March 12, 2019
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, this was held
at the Activity Building in Meeting Room D at 9:00 a.m. March 12, 2019 with all board
members present, constitutes a quorum:

Ms. Nancy Mastrofrancesco, Chair
Mr. Dennis Rundell, Vice Chair
Ms. Mona Palmer, Regular Member
Ms. Doris Ochoa, Regular Member
Ms. Yolanda Robles, Regular Member
Ms. Dorothy Montz, Regular Member
Mr. David O’Brien, Regular Member
Ms. Charlene Mizener, Alternate
Staff/ Liaison/Guest:

The following items were discussed:
1. Ms. Nancy Mastrofrancesco called the meeting to order at 9:05am.
2. The invocation was given by Ms. Mona Palmer.
3. The February 12, 2019 minutes were approved.
4. Discussion and possible actions regarding the upcoming trips and events:
a. Monday, April 1, 2019, Wal Mart, 9:30 to 11:00am, free trip; Wednesday,
April 17, 2019, Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum, 8:45am to
3:00pm, cost $10 per person, lunch on your own at Joe’s Crab Shack; Friday,
April 26, 2019, Pasadena Opry, 5:30 to 10:30pm, Cost: $12 per person;
Tuesday, April 30, 2019, Nasa Premier Cinema, Time TBD, cost $1per
person.
b. Monday, April 8, 2019, Bingo, sponsored by Linda Richard, 1:00 to 3:00pm;
Wednesday, April 10, 2019, Wii Bowling Tournament, 1:00 to 3:00pm;
Tuesday, April 11, 2019, Spring Picnic and Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by
Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 11:00am – 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 23, 2019,
Pajama Day, All day; Wedneday, April 24, 2019, Bingo, sponsored by
Apostle Home Health, 1:00 – 3:00pm; Thursday, April 25, 2019, Banana Split
Social, 12:00 – 12:30pm; Monday, April 29, 2019, Guest Speaker: Dorte
Koustrop, Mindfulness and Meditations, 11:30am – 12:30pm.
5. Discussion and possible actions regarding the Budget and Purchasing:
a. Read and Reviewed
6. Discussion and possible actions regarding the Spring Picnic: Thursday, April 11,
Stevenson 11am-1pm, Easter egg hunt, Jeter Memorial Funeral Home will sponsor
the event; we will serve hot dogs, beans, chips and cookies.
7. Discussion and possible actions regarding the Fanny Packs: Michael brought in 7
different fanny pack options for the committee to review and discuss.
8. Report from the Go Texan Luncheon: Successful event, 110 seniors attended, and
collected 149.50 of donations.
9. Report from the Assistant Director: None
10. Comments made by the Public:
a. Robert Griffon: Committee regarding new community center.
