6/5/85
A meeting of the 4th of July Steering Committee was held on
6/5/85 at 7:30 p.m. in the Public Works Building at which
time the following business transpired:
REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES
Janet Sobey - Promotional items are for sale at the following
retail stores: Friendswood Frame Shop, J.D.'s Bookstore,
Rick's Seafood, Dandy's Liquor Store. Sales are going very
well at Texas Commerce Bank however very few items were sold
at Mainland and Delta Savings.
MOTION; Bette Jane Wells To discontinue sales at all
locations except Texas Com-
merce Bank and Chamber of
Commerce until the last Sat.
before the 4th.
SECOND; Benny Baker
VOTE; Unanimous: FOR MOTION CARRIED
• Children sizes of T-shirts need to be re -ordered as follows:
Size 2-4 1 doz. flag, 1 doz. scene
Size 6-8 1 doz. flag, 1 doz. scene
Size 10-12 1 doz. flag, 1 doz. scene
The sun visors are due to be delivered around June 20, 1985.
Donna Cashion - Distributed the volunteer mailing list to the
telephone committee for a follow-up call for the following
purpose;
1. Did_ you receive. the letter?
2. Do you plan to participate?
3. If not one volunteer nominee, will your have a person
to represent the organization if nominated.
4.. Request on form that the organization be recognized but
include the representative that will be receiving the
award at the ceremonies.
Confirmation letters to parade entries received have been mailed
as they are received.
Committees made appointment times for next week to meet with
Paul Fronczek and Donna Cashion to"fine tune" the last minute
details of each committee.
The Steering Committee made the decision not to send the volunteer
letter to Board of Adjustments, P&Z, Council, YNOC but let the
committee headed by Bobbie Henry maKe the recommendations.

The brochure and flyer for the citizen mail out will be ready
next Tuesday. At the steering committee meeting on June 12,
1985 the stuffing of the envelopes (5,200) will begin.
The invitation to the Gathering will be handed out through
each City Department Head by Monday June 10, 1985.
Ben Malek - Alex needs to be notified to have the split wood at
the Park one week prior to July 3, 1985 for cooking for the
Gathering.
