HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1983-08-25 Special-I lJ MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEET ING OF THE FR IENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION August 25, 1983 A Special Meet ing of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, August 25, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present. Cress -Chairman Hoppe Jones Beggs Miller Brown Vice With a quorum present and with none absent, the following business was transacted. SUNSET ACRES Mitch Mitchell presented his final plat of Sunset Acres for signature. The final approval was given July 7, 1983. He also presented his final deed restrictions. This subdivision is located between Mills and Murphy. SET BACKS Mr. Mitchell also recommended the Commission consider the changing of the back and side set-back requirements for single story detached garage only. The recommended change is 10' for the back and 5' for the side. The present requirements are 25' for back and 10' side. Mr. Mitchell feels this would allow the larger homes with detached garages bet ter placement on the 90' lots. He also stressed this would only apply to single story detached garages. [ I j Page 2 August 25, 1983 MRS. WHITMIRE F.M. 2351 4.6 ACRES A site plan of 13 buildings containing 26 units having single garages was presented. The proposed plan is for a 345' entrance into a cul-de-sac. After review the Commission £let that more guest parking was necessary and perhaps this oculd be accomplished by extending the entrance street into the cul-de sac. A request was made that a side walk be placed on either side of the entrance and completely around the cul-de-sac. GEORGE ENGLAND -SEVEN EL EVEN A site plan for a new Seven Eleven located on F.M. 528 an d Sun Meadow Blvd. was presented to the Commission. The can opy for the gasoline tanks is only 6' from F.M. 528 R.O.W. which is in violation of out zoning Ordinance. The Homeowners Association of Sun Meadow objected to ingress -egress from Sun Meadow Blvd. FRIENDSHIP VILLAGE PATIO HOMES A plat of 49 units of patio homes situated on 8.1 acres. The patio homes will be approximately 1000 sq. ft. with 2 car garages, the smallest lot being 48x80. After review the Commission requested the following items befor e approval. 1.Deed Restrictions2.Proof of ownership of land being used for the street3.Review by the Fire Department4.Review by the Police Depatment5.Review by the City Engineer6.Sidew alks shown on the plat7.Front set backs shown on plat DAN BANE 6 ACRES SUN MEADOW Mr. Bane is considering the purchase of 6 acres now zoned C-1 for rezoning for apartments. This acreage backs up to the 18th hole of the Sun Meadow golf course. He is considering requesting an R-5 for apartments.
