MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
January 14, 1985
The Friends wood Plann ing and Zoning Commission held a Special Meeting on Monday, January 14, 1985, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following members were present.
Miller -Chairman Holt Jones Cress Brown Hoppe (6:55)
With a quorum present and with Beggs absent, the· following business was transacted.
CONSIDER CARMEL VILLAGE AND MISSI0N ESTATES REZONING MFR-L TO SPECIFIC USE-SFR
Carmel Village and Mission Estates is now zoned as MFR-L and is being considered for rezoning to Specific Use-SFR under the present zoning ordinance. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends that the property be rezoned so that lots will be kept at the size that they were platted and recorded. The Commission does not approve of the City Administration's plan of replating lots in various widths between 60 ft. and 80 ft .. The Commission's reasons are as follows:
1.The 60 £t. lot width plats were approved ingood faith with the advice of the City Attorney.
2.Replatting and recording lots as needed will betime consuming, confusing and inefficent.
3.Using the Specific Use zoning classification tocorrect mistakes is improper.
Dr. Jones excused himself as a voting member of the Planning and Zoning Commission regarding this item.

MOTION: (CRESS) To recom mend to the City Council to rezone the property in question to Specific Use with 60' lot widths and 5' set backs.
SECOND: (BROWN) VOTE: FOR: Miller, Cress, Brown and Hoppe AGAINST: Holt -Im proper use of Specific Use
