HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1985-05-16 Regular[ 1 I I lJ MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSW OOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION May 16, 1985 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission held a regular meeting on Thursday, May 16, 1985, at 7�30 P.M. in the City Hall Council Cham bers. The following subjects were considered. Miller -Chairman Cress Belden Wetzel Brown Holt With a quorum present and with Beggs absent, the following business was transacted. REQUEST -REPLAT WILD ERNESS TRAILS - 9 ACRES Dr. Franz presented a 9 acre tract of land located on Wilderness Trails street to be subdivided, selling 5 of th e 9 acres. Wilderness Trails is an unimproved road and subdividing would be in violation of the subdivision ordinance. MR. KRAMER -SPECIFIC USE PERMIT REQUEST -716 SOUTH FRIENDSWOOD DRIVE Mr. Kramer is requesting a specific use permit for 716 South Friendswood Drive for his consignment car lot, auto clean up shop, used motorcycle sales and notary and title service at the above address. The property is presently zoned OBD and a specific use permit would require a zoning change. A consignment car lot would be called a broker type business. It was recommended the Planning and Zoning Commission would consult with the City Attorney on the appropriate use of the OBD in reference to used car lots. The ordinance does not provide for used cars or consignment cars under the permitted use table of the zoning ordinance under OBD. Com missioner Holt suggested perhaps it go before the Zoning Board of Adjustments for an ordinance interpertation. r 1 11 lJ Page 2 May 16,1985 MOTION: (HOLT) After discussion the Commission feels Mr. Kramer's proposed business on the corner of F.M. 518 and Echo, a used car lot is prohibited by the zoning ordinance. SECOND: (WETZEL) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED FR IENDSWOOD TIMBERS SECTION I -PREL IMINARY A preliminary plat of Friendswood Timbers Sec tion I was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission by General Homes. Friendswood Timbers proposes to develop 83.66 acres containing 136 lots located on F.M. 2351 and Melody Lane. MOTION: (WETZEL) To give preliminary approval to Friendswood Timbers subdivision contingent on the following: SECOND: (CR ESS) 1.Deed Restrictions2.Plat Feea�. Letfen-fr�m·Clear �reek-Drainage District Review 4.R.O.W. on F.M. 23515.Note -sidewalks on final plat VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED Th e meeting was adjourned. Rut�r:-_:�
