HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1985-09-19 Regular[ 1 l J MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Septem ber 19, 1985 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission held a reg ular meeting on Thu rsday, Septem ber 19, 1985, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following Commi ssioners we�e present. Miller -Chairman (7:40) Cress Holt Brown Beeth Todd Beggs With a quorum present and none ab se nt, the following busines s was transacted. Vice Chairman Mary Brown, called the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting to order. PROPOSED DA Y CARE -F.M. 518 -PRELIMINARY -"PARK 518 11 Kent Ballard presented a preliminary plat of a proposed day care to be located on F.M. 518. The 4.2805 acres to be subdivided into 3 reserves (A and B to be rezoned from CSC to NC ). Reserve A is to be the loca tion of the day care. It was suggested reserve A have an ingress-egress to res erve B. The PARK 518 being a replat of 4.2805 acres of land out of lots 41,42,53 and 54 of the Voss Sub division. MOTION: (Beggs) To give preliminary approval with the following items to have clarification before final approval. 1.right-of-way F.M. 518 -to be shown onfinal pLat.2.ingress-egress to connect tracts A and BSECOND: (Holt) VOTE : UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED -i lJ Page 2 September 19, 1985 PUBLIC HEARING Chairman Ralph Miller, called a joint public hearing for October 17, 1985. The public hearing is for the following zone classification change. REQUEST: CSC TO NC LOCATION: REASON: F.M. 518 NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF F.M. 518DAY CARE CENTER BURGER KING -ADDITION -SOLARIUM Drawings for an addition to Burger King located on F.M. 528 were presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission showing set backs, parking and landscaping. Previous drawings which had been presented to the building department had shown an encroachment on F.M. 528. FALCON RIDGE -PARTIAL REPLAT On September 5, 1985, Ted Bogren presented a partial replat of Falcon Ridge Section I Block I, Lots 20-23, 25 and 27. This was for the purpose of an additional building line of 31' for a detached, structure for 6 lots, because of a p�pe line easement. -The Planning and Zoning Commission had been told by Mr. Bogren that City Attorney John Olson, had given verbal approv al. The Commission gave contingent approval based on a written clarification from the City Attorney. Chairman Ralph Miller has since been in contact with the City Attorney who says he doesn't remember the situation. Mr. Miller also contacted City Manager Jim Morgan, who does remember the convers ation. No decision has been made at this time and the Planning and Zoning Commission suggested the situation be referred to the City Council.
