MINUTES OF A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
May 16, 1985
The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council held a joint public hearing, May 16, 1985, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following subjects were considered.

With a quorum present and with Beggs absent, the following business was transacted.
CHAIRMAN RALPH MILLER CALLED THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING TO ORDER TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
1.3.918 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF LOTS 14 AND 15 OF THE VOSSSUBDIVISION SITUATED IN THE SARAH MC KISSICK LEAGUE,ABSTRACT 151 IN GALVESTON COUNTY, TEXAS. SAID VOSSSUBDIVISION BEING SHOWN BY A PLAT RECORDED IN VOLUME254-A, PAGE 9 OF THE DEED OF RECORD OF GALVESTON COUNTY,TEXAS BEING MORE PARTICULARLY, DESCRIBED BY METES ANDBOUNDS.
REQUEST: MFR-M TO NC LOCATION: SOUTH ALONG F.M. 528 CORNER OF WINDING WAY EAST
The following people spoke in opposition;

With some of the concerns being:

Fenley Horn spoke in favor regarding the 7 acres he owns in the area and feels it should be commercial.
2.0.5317 ACRES BEING A PART OF 11.4003 ACRES OF LAND OUT OFLOTS 15 AND 16, BLOCK 5, FRIENDSWOOD SUB DIVISION AS RECORDEDIN VOLUME 238, PAGE 14 AND VOLUME 254, PAGE 37 OF THE GALVESTONCOUNTY DEED OF RECORDS, IN -THE SARAH MC KISSICK OR J.R. WILLIAMSLEAGUE IN GALVESTON COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLYDESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS.
REQUEST: SFR TO NC LOCATION: CORNER AT CASTLEWOOD AND PROPOSED CEDARWOOD EXTENSION
James Apple representing the property addressed the Mayor Pro Tern, Council, Planning and Zoning Commission and the audience. The proposed use of the 1/2 acre tract would be for a fitness center.
The following people addressed the Mayor Pro Tern, Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission in opposition to the rezoning request.

Councilman Wicklander asked the question how the audience would feel if the property was deeded for this purpose only? The opposition to doing this lessened. Chairman Ralph Miller said this could be done by a specific use permit.
The public hearing was closed.
