MINUTES OF A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
November 11, 1985
The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council held a joint public hearing, November 11, 1985, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following subjects were considered.

With a qu orum present and with Cr ess and Beeth absent, the following bu siness was transacted.
CHAIRMAN RALPH MILLER CALLED THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING TO ORDER TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
1.CONSIDER AN AMENDMENT TO THE FRIENDSWOOD ZONING ORDINANCE#84-15; SIGNS TO ALLOW PORTABLE SIGNS DURING THE MONTH OFDECEMBER FOR COMM ERCIAL USE ONLY.
Ray Milby, representing the Chamber of Commerce, addressed the Council, Planning and Zoning Commission and the audience on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce in favor of the use or portable on-pre�ise signs for the month of· December 1985.
Mrs. Holt of the Community Appearance Board addressed the group asking the Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission to consider the appearance this type of sign gives to the community.
Mrs. Ritter addressed the group saying the sign ordinance already allowed 6 weeks of portable and temporary signs.

Mr. Milby addressed the group again saying this was a temporary measure for the holiday season.
Several other citizens and business owners addressed the group.
2.CONSIDER A REVISION TO THE FRIENDSWOOD ZONING ORDINANCE#84-15, TO DELETE FROM SECTION 7 SCHEDULE OF DISTRICTREGULATIONS, A PORTION OF G. 4 THE FOLLOWING:
THE COMMERCIAL RETAIL AND SERVICE USES PERMITTED IN THIS DISTRICT SHALL NOT EXCEED FOUR THOUSAND (4,000) SQUARE FEET IN GROSS FLOOR AREA FOR ANY LOT OR PREMISES.
No one spoke in oppositi on.
