Spears - Chairman R. Mora R. Phillips J. Phillips P. J. Mize With a quorum present and Ray Utley absent the following '.business was transacted: PUBLIC HEARING - Rezoning of 1.67 acres at FM 2351 and Melody Ln. from R-1 to C-1 for 7/11 convenience store. PROPERTY OWNERS PRESENT SOUTHLAND CORP. Leslie Todd Idhn,',Ieddle Gail Conavey Willie Mae Bucaanyr Ralph Miller Blanche Weber Jo Ann B. Gilliam J. B. Shore Veronica Scoulios William A. Langdoc The property owners in opposition to the convenience store gave their reasons as being; (1) traffic problems, (2) commercial property should be centralized at intersections, (3) an outlet for alcohol, (N) other request for rezoning would occur, (5) a safety hazard. A letter of opposition from the Imperial Estates I Civic Club was also received by the Commission. After the property owners were heard, Mr. John Weldle withdrew his request.
