HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1977-02-17 RegularMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION February 17, 1977 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a Regular meeting on Thursday February 3, 1977 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall with the following members present: Kenneth Fossler - Chairman Robert Mora Bob Phillips Jerry Phillips Tracy Spears Paul Maaz (Council. Rep.) Ray Utley With a quorum present, and with Leah North absent the following business was transacted: APPROBAL OF MINUTES - Minutes of a Regular Meeting on February 3, 1977 approved as read. MR. FORSBERG 3.1 ACRES ON WILDERNESS TRAIL ANDD-GREENBRIAR Mr. Forsberg has 3.1 acres with a barn he wants to convert into a house with septic tank. Mr. Forsberg presented the Planning and Zoning Commission a survey dated 2/7/77. He was advised since the land was recorded prior to annexation he needs a plat with the recording date on the plat for the Planning and Zoning Commission MR. ARNOLD - PLAT OF A COMMERCIAL BUILDING ON MELODY LANE AND FM 2351 Construction of a building 26 by 40 on a lot 70 by 125. The following items are needed: 1. Plot plan with drives and access and building location 2. Location of 5 parking spaces 3. Drainage shown 4. Auto entrance from FM 2351 onto the premises will require a Permit from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Page 2 MR. KILGORE AND MR. LETZERICH - WINDMERE PROPOSED LAKE AREA Mr. Letzerich presented a plat of the proposed lake in compliance with a letter written to Mr. Letzerich January 6, 1977. Mr. Letzerich's Insurance company sent him a letter requesting further clarification on the bond request asked for in the letter dated 1/6/77. The commission is to check with the City Attorney, regarding the proper bonding form. The Commission advised Mr. Letzerich the tract of land is zoned R-1 and must be re -zoned Specific Use. The Commission is to call a hearing at the next commission meeting on March 0, 1977. MR. TED BOGREN - FRIENDSWOOD ESTATES LOT 7 - FINAL Mr.-Bogren presented a final plat of Friendswood Estates lot 7. MOTION: (Mora) Final approval lot 7 Friendswood Estates. Second: B. Phillips AGAINST: None ABSTAINING: Utley FRIENDSWOOD BANK - ADDITION MOTION: (Mora) Approval of plat with variance for the issuance of a Building Permit. Second: B. Phillips Vote: Unanimous MOTION CARRIED MR. HARRIS - HARRIS II SUBDIVISION Mr. Harris was advised there is no ingress or egress to the proposed Harris II Subdivision. The Planning and Zoning Commission can not take any action on Harris II. FRIENDSWOOD WEST - MR. WILLIAMS A letter dated 2/10/77 requesting variance on lot reduction to 7,000 sq. ft. At the present time Friendswood Ordinance lot size is 11,600 sq. ft. Page 3 DR. C. BOONE - WHISPERING PINES SUBDIVISION Dr. Boone presented a plat of 80 lots approximately 2 acres each in the Whispering Pines Subdivision with with septic tanks. Dr. Boone is to see the City Engineer for the location of the closest sewer line. FOSSLER SUBDIVISION - FINAL Mr. Fossler presented a plat of the Fossler subdivision for final approval. MOTION: (Spears) To Subdivision. Second: (Utley) AGAINST: None ABSTAINING: Fossler MEMORANDUM give final approval of the Fossler A memo was given to the Planning and Zoning Commission from Mr. Morgan, stating effective March 1, 1977 Ms. Ginger Bailey would be the secretary for the Planning and Zoning Commission. PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE A lengthy discussion was held on the proposed zoning ordinance. It was decided that a special meeting would be held to discuss the proposed ordinance on Tuesday February 22, 1977 at 7:30 in the Council. Chambers. ADJOURNMENT - Motion was made for adjournment.
