HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1977-01-20 RegularMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION January 20, 1977 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a Regular meeting on Thursday January 20, 1977 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall with the following members present: Kenneth Fossler - Chairman Bob Phillips (arrived late) Ray Utley Paul Maaz - Council Rep. Tracy Spears Robert Mora With a quorum present, and with Leah North and Jerry Phillips absent the following business was transacted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes of a Regular Meeting on January 63 1977 approved as corrected. The correction being: DR. C. BOONE - Wilderness Trail Dr. Boone owns approximately 150 acres on Wilderness Trail. He asked the Commission members feelings on 1 and 2 acre tracts with septic tanks. The Commission advised that the City Policy sets as minimum size 2 1/2 acre tracts for septic tanks. CORRECTION DR. C. BOONE - Wilderness Trail Dr. Boone owns approximately 150 acres on Wilderness Trail. He asked the Commission members feelings on 1 and 2 acre tracts with septic tanks. The Commission advised that the City Policy sets as minimum size 2 1/2 acre tracts for septic tanks. The Commission told Dr. Boone that they did like the idea that he had in mind and offered to work with him in the development of the land, however possible. BAKER SUBDIVISION Mr. Baker submitted a sepia for signature. Mr. Baker received final approval 7/1/76 contingent on submission of milar and tracings in the specified quanity. page 2 MR. HACKNEY - FRIENDSWOOD METHODIST CHURCH - SANCTUARY Mr. Hackney presented Pre -Preliminary plans for a new sanctuary with a balcony for the Friendswood Methodist Church. The maximum seating capacity will be approximately 449. MR. HACKNEY - FRIENDSWOOD METHODIST CHURCH - RE -ZONING The Friendswood Methodist Church located at 204 W. Edgewood is requesting re -zoning of their 5 acres. At the present time the first 200' of the land is zoned C-1 and the remainder R-1, they are asking the entire 5 acres be re -zoned Specific Use. MR. BOURGEOIS 2.1 ACRES - RE -ZONING Mr. Bourgeois is considering purchasing 2.1 acres located off 518 (lot 45 of the Sloan Subdivision) in the direction of League City. The tract is presently zoned R-1 and he would like the feeling of the Commission members on re -zoning the tract C-1. The Commission members recommendation was for the land to be zoned A-1 (Agricultural District) under the proposed zoning ordinance. BRUCE CLINE - PLACEMENT OF MOBILE HOME Bruce Cline is requesting placement of a mobile home on Rustic Lane behind his fathers house the reasons being listed below: 1. My dad, Mr. C.W. Cline, has cancer. 2. 1 am needed to help take care of the animals and my fathers home place. 3. The mobile home can be located next to the house where only two neighbors can view it. 4. C.W. Cline has been paying city taxes of $479.00/per year since incorporation without city services such as city water and sewage. 5. The installation of the mobile home will not be long term, only thru my college days. The Commission advised Bruce Cline they would check with the City Attorney since this is against our zoning ordinance. page 3 GIL'S BUILDING ON 518 AND STRATMORE The Commission received the plat from our City Engineer with his comments showing location of sewer, water line and parking lot drainage as suggested by the Engineer. The Commission would like a plat showing the recommendations made by the Engineer and copies for the Building Inspector, Planning and Zoning Commission and the Engineer. ADJOURNMENT - Motion was made for adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m. z Secretary APPROVED:
