HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1977-12-01 Public HearingMINUTES OF A PUBLIC HEARING FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION December 1, 1977 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a public hearing on Thursday December 1, 1977 at 8:00 p.m., an the City Hall with the following members present; T. Spears - Chairman R. Phillips R. Mora H. Rawley P. J. Mize Ray Utley With a quorum present the following business was transacted: PUBLIC HEARING - REZONING OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SCHOOL PROPERTY AT EDGEWOOD FROM R-1 TO COMMERCIAL. Mr. Ted Thomas came before the Commission for the purpose of rezoning property at Edgewood owned by the school. He asked to rezone the property to commercial an order to sell the property. The Commission advised him to have the potential buyer present at the rezoning request. Mr. Thomas stated he could not sell the property without an open bid and it would have to be publicised as it is presently zoned. The Commission informed him they had 60 days from the date of the request to make a decision and asked him to try and have the perspective buyer come before the Commission. The subject was tabled for the present time. S4cretoy - -- MINUTES OF A PUBLIC DARING FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION December 1, 1977 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met for a Public Hearing on Thursday December 1977 at 8:30 p.m., in the City Hall with the following members present: T. Spears - Chairman R. Phillips R. Mora H. Rawley P. J. Mize Ray Utley With a quorum present, the following business was transacted: PUBLIC HEARING - REZONING 3 ACRES ON FM 528 FROM R-1 TO SPECIFIC USE DRILL SITES. A public hearing was held for the purpose of rezoning 3 acres across from Sunmeadow to Specific -Use drill sites. There were no comments from the public in opposition. MOTION: (H. Rawley) to recommend to Council as presented to rezone a 3.0 acre tract out of and a part of the Burgess Subdivision from R-1 to Specific -Use Drill Sites. Second: R. Mora Vote: Unanimous FOR MOTION CARRIED r ecreyiry
