OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
September 1, 1977
The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a regular
meeting on Thursday September 1, 1977 at 7:30 p.m., in the City
Hall with the following members present:

Phillips

J. Mize
With a quorum present and Ray Utley absent, the following buisness
was transacted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes of a regular meeting of August 18,
1977 were approved as read. Minutes of a
special meeting of August 23, 1977 were
approvel as corrected. The correction being
on the topic of school property, to change
the bus parking in the second phase to read
36 spaces.
MR, RAPP - ADDITION TO MARY QUEENS CATHOLIC CHURCH
Mr. Rapp presented a plan for an addition to Mary Queens Catholic
Church, The Commission asked for 1/3 parking ratio. After reviewing
the plans a motion was made.
MOTION: (J. Phillips) To red line plans to show the additional
100 parking space area that should be paved and stripped,
and to give final approval.
Second: T. Spears
Vote: Unanimous FOR MOTION CARRIED
PUBLIC HEARING - See attached sheet.
NANCY HUGHS REDDING - SUBDIVIDING TWO 5 ACRE TRACTS IN SLONES SUBDIVISION
Ms. Redding asked the Commission views on selling two 5 acre tracts by
metes and bounds. The property is located at FM 518 behind Bayou Gardens.
The Commission informed Ms. Redding it would have to be subdivided meeting
all the requirements for the subdivision ordinance.
DR. DAWSON & DR. JONES - SUBDIVISION AT CREENBRIAR
The Commission asked for more parkland and agreed it could be
figured in with ajoining proposed subdivision of Dr. Boones,
if agreeable with both parties. Also block 4 should be entered
into Creenbriar and a sideviald constructed to the High School.
DR. BOONE - WILDERNESS TRAIL SUBDIVISION (Whispering Pines)
Dr. Boone presented a revised plat of teh subdivision containing
542 lots. The subdivision is being engineered by C oulson &
Associates. After reviewing the plat the Commission asked for
a mini -park in section 1 in teh area of Bayou Oak Drive. After
a lenghty review a motion was made.
MOTION: (R. Mora) preliminary approval subject to mini -
park area in section-1 in the area of Bayou Oak
Drive. Mission Drive open to Falling Leaf and
the final be in 3 sections.
Second: B. Phillips
Vote: Unanimous FOR MOTION CARRIED
A motion was made for adjournment. The meeting adjourned at
10:50 P.M.
