AND ZONING COMMISSION
July 15, 1976
the Friendswood Planning & Zoning Commission met in a Regular
Session on Thursday July 15,1976 at 7:30 p.m. in the City
Hall with the following members present:
Clyde Raney - Chairman Jerry Phillips
Ken Fossler - Vice Chairman Bob Phillips
Leah North Tracy Spears
With a quorum present, and Ray Utley absent the following
business was transacted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes of a Regular Meeting on July 1,
1976, approved as read.
JOHN WILLHOITE - PORTABLE BUILDING - Mr. Willhoite wanted to
establish a portable building in the business district of
Friendswood. The commission advised him by Ordinance they
are compelled to follow the Southern Building Code. Portable
buildings are a temporary construction.
MAYOR LOWE SURVEY - Mayor Lowe presented a survey showing a
proposed construction of a 60 ft. road and the closing of a
40 ft. road, across from the entrance of Sun Meadow. The
property involved is part owned by Mayor Lowe and part by Mr.
George Bofysil. They are in agreement on the construction of
the road.
MEETING - MR. OLSON XITY ATTORNEY,CLYDE RANEY AND KEN FOSSLER
Mr. Olson, Mr. Raney.and Mr. Fossler met on Monday July 12,1976
to discuss the Zoning Ordinance. The first reading of the
modification to the Subdivision Ordinance relative to the five
lots with facilities will be read on Monday July 19th City
Council meeting.
WINDING WAY STREET NAME CHANGE -
Motion: (Phillips) A recommended change of the street
Winding Way to be Shadwell.
Second: Raney
Vote: Unanimous FOR
METES AND BOUNDS - It was called to the Commission's attention
certain property is now being sold by metes and bounds. It
was recommended a letter be sent to Mr. Hal Boone and Dr. Carroll
Boone, owners, advising them that for a building permit to be
issued on this property in the future they must follow the
Subdivision Ordinance ##210 as required by Vernon's Civil Statutes
974A.
BAKER SUBDIVISION DISCUSSION - If the Ammendment to the
Subdivision is completed prior to the cover-up, the subdivision
would fall under the new ordinance. Otherwise the motion
previously made on July 1, 1976 would stand.
ADJOURNMENT - Motion was made for adjournment.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 p.m.
