HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1976-12-02 RegularMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION December 2, 1976 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a Regular meeting on Thursday December 2, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall with the following members present: Clyde Raney - Chairman Tracy Spears (arrived late) Ray Utley Kenneth Fossler (arrived late) Bob Phillips Robert Mora Leah North Jerry Phillips With a quorum present, and with none absent the following business was transacted: APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes of a Regular Meeting on November 18, 1976 approved as read. MR. TOM KENT - COMMERCIAL BUILDING ON FM 2351 The commission approved Mr. Kents plans for a commercial building on FM 2351. The commission called the following items to his attention and is routing a memorandum to the City Manager. 1. 10' drive increased to the minimum of the curb cut ordinance. 2. 20' driveway be increased to 30' 3. The City ordinance requires on site drainage which is not shown on the plat. 4. The commission recommends two storm water inlets 12" x 12" x 12" D be installed with leaders extended to the front of the property. 5. For the above information to be seen by the City Engineer. 6. When sidewalks are constructed the property owner will be assessed 1000. A motion was made. page 2 MOTION: (Spears) Motion was made to recommend approval of a building permit for Mr. Kent's commercial building with the exceptions noted on page 1. Second: Bob Phillips Vote: Unanimous MR. STUART - STONES THROW APARTMENTS The commission advised Mr. Stuart a memorandum was to be sent to the City Manager requesting information on traffic flow in relation to traffic density (162 cars) during peak hours; fire prevention and protection; available and adequate water and sanitary sewer facilities. MR. LUPO - OLD TIME RELIGION HOUR INC. REQUEST FOR RE -ZONING Mr. Lupo, President of the Old Time Religion Hour Inc., a non- profit corporation, requested re -zoning of 47 acres of land located at 1400 Lundy Lane from its present status R-1 to Specific Use. Mr. Lupo was advised by the commission of the procedures for re -zoning. W.B. WOOD - REVIEW OF HOUSE PLANS FOR PERMIT TO BUILD The commission advised the City Manager by memorandum that they are under the opinion Mr. Woods should have a prepared plat indicating the limits of his subdivision as required by subdivision ordinance no. 210. DUNBAR ESTATES - DONATION OF .826 ACRES FOR A CITY PARK The information has been turned over to the parks and recreation committee for study. DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE The commission discussed the Proposed Zoning Ordinance and District Regulations. The Proposed Zoning Ordinance is in the process of being typed with the changes made by the commission members. The ordinance will then be presented to the City Attorney for review and then to the City Council. ADJOURNMENT - Motion was made for adjournment.
