HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1976-11-08 SpecialMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION November 8, 1976 A special meeting of the Planning 9 Zoning Commission was held at City Hall on Monday, November 8, 1976, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present: Clyde Raney - Chairman Tracy Spears Bob Phillips Ray Utley Jerry Phillips With a quorum present, and with Leah North and Kenneth Fossler absent the following business was transacted: CITIZENS IN AUDIENCE - SIGNING REGISTER Mr. & Mrs. Paul L. Dillon Mr. 8 Mrs. Robert L. Baker Mr. & Mrs. Jim Brown Gay Stevens John Young Oscar Hahn Carl Murray T.L. Summers K.B. Watts Charlene Gray Murry Gray Thomas Harvey F.M. ? Egan Betty J. Hodges This meeting was called for the specific purpose of considering the following: 1. To call a hearing for the purpose of re -zoning approximately 5.4 acres of land, located on Quaker between Skyview and Clearview. 2. To call a hearing to consider re -zoning of the Zoning Ordinance. 3. Make any other recommendations or action concerning the above tract of land. page 2 Mr. Raney, Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission stated that Mr. Olson, City Attorney, has advised the Commission to proceed with the re -zoning of the City of Friendswood and the revisions of the Zoning Ordinance as has been planned -- at this time not to change the course of action. Mr. Olson felt that the adoption of the new ordinance could be accomplished in the same time frame as it would take to initiate a new action on the re --zoning of a specific piece of property. The Chairman stated that it is the intention of the commission to proceed in the most expeditious manner possible. In a discussion that followed the Chairman pledged that if at all possible the revised ordinance and proposed zoning mpa would be presented to the City Council at the first meeting in December with the recommendations that they also expedite the adoption of these documents. NOTE: When the Council reconvened, Mr. Raney passed the above facts to the City Council. ADJOURNMENT - Motion was made for adjournment.
