AND ZONING COMMISSION
June 3, 1976
The Friendswood Planning 6 Zoning Commission met in a Regular
Session on Thursday, June 3, 1976 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall
with the following members present:
Clyde Raney, Chairman Tracy Spears
Ken Fossler, Vice Chairman Leah North
Ray Utley Robert Phillips
With a quorum present, and Jerry Phillips absent, the following
business was transacted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes of a Regular Meeting on May 20, 1976,
approved as read. However Commissioner North requested that the
trade name "Fast Gas" and "on corner of Friendswood Drive and 2351"
be added where the name "Autotronics" appear in the minutes.
MRS. SAMMONS - SPECIFIC USE PERMIT - Mrs. Sammons made application
for re -zoning for Day Care Center in her home located 211 E. Shadow -
bend. Mrs. Sammons was informed by the commission of the time
involved approximately 3 months. She was to call the City Secretary
for a schedule of fees. Mrs. Sammons ask to be placed on the agenda
of next Planning 6 Zoning Commission Meeting to call a hearing.
BOB ATKINSON - TOWN PLAN - Mr. Atkinson presented the Planning and
Zoning Commission with films, sepias and prints of the following:
Base Map 1-600 1-400
Zoning Map 1-600 1-1000
Street Map 1-600
Block Numbering Map (overlay) 1-600
Pipeline Easement Map (overlay) 1-600
Contour Map (overlay) 1-600
Curb Cut (film)
Whispering Pines (film)
Colored Land Use Map (film) 1-400
Copies of Street Map and Block Numbering Map are to be forwarded to
the following:
Post Office
Police Department
Fire Department
These prints are to be returned with comments and corrections before
final printing and distribution
li With presentation of these maps Mr. Atkinson's contract is finalized.
BOOKLET RELATIVE TO SUB -DIVIDING IN FRIENDSWOOD- A packet for
sub -dividing in Friendswood was reviewed by the commission
members for comments and suggestions. The revised forms will
be presented at the next Planning 6 Zoning Commission meeting.
MR. WHITMIRE - MINI WAREHOUSE STORAGE MODULES - Mr. Whitmire
sent a letter to the Planning 6 Zoning Commission dated 5-19-76
regarding placement of storage modules on a 5 acre tract South
of the Hut Trailer Court on Edgewood. Mr. Raney will reply in
the form of a letter.
A PROPOSED MEETING BETWEEN PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION AND
DEPARTMENT HEADS - This meeting between the commission and
the department heads to be scheduled in 2 to 3 weeks would
be to discuss a better communication with Commission members,
department heads and Council members. It was suggested Mr.
Plat Thompson of Prestress Concrete be present at the same
meeting.
ADJOURNMENT - Motion was made for adjournment.
The meeting was adjourned.
