HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1976-02-05 RegularMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION February 5,1976 A Regular Meeting of the Friendswood Planning & Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, February 5, 1976, at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Tracy Spears, Chairman Leah North Clyde Raney Jerry Phillips Kenneth Fossler Ray Utley Bob Phillips With a quorum present, and none absent, the following business was transacted: OATH OF OFFICE - Mayor Lowe administered the Oath of Office to Ken Fossler who has been reappointed to Position #7 and Ray Utley, appointed to Position #6. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes of a Regular Meeting of January 15, 1976, approve as read, FRIENDSWOOD ESTATES SUBDIVISION, ADDITION NO. 1. The commission acknowledged receipt of three copies of the preliminary plat with a letter from James Gartrell, Engineer, stating that water will be extended to the end of the culdesac,sewer force main will be extended, and drainage easement and'accessway have been revised. The plat was referred to City Engineer Heaney for review. AUTOTRONICS CORPORATION A proposed plan was outlined to build a self-service gas station on"the corner of FM 2351 and FM 518 on the present site,of the ARCO station. The old station -would be torn down and completely removed. Plans would include future construction dairy store. Plans and pictures of typical installations of the type proposed for Friendswood were acceptable to the Commission if architectural drawings include conformity with Chapter 15 of the City Code, Streets and Sidewalks, relative to curb cuts. THOROUGHBRED FARMS.'- Ernie Matt Mr. Matt presented a proposal for subdividing a parcel of land on the southwestern side of Lundy Lane into 2-1/2 to 5 acre tracts with septic tanks and wells, with an unsurfaced road through the middle of the property. He was advised to get cost figures on laying the necessary line to service grinder pump sewer systems, and an asphalt topped road. Raney will work with Matt to see if there is a workable and economically feasible method of developing this property, CITY MAPS City Planner Bob Atkinson has delivered to -the Commission the following transparencies: Friendswood City map (2) Topographic map Block number map Zoning map (small) Easement overlays (2) Zoning overlay North stated that there are some errors on one of the maps. It was agreed that Van Williams would be permitted to reproduce certain of the maps. ZONING ORDINANCE - City Attorney Olson is to be contacted regarding status of the revised zoning ordinance. When it is completed, a joint public hearing with the City Council will be held, ADJOURNMENT w There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Secretary APPROVED: Chairman NOTE: On a trial basis, the City Secretary will be serving the Commission as recording secretary. An assistant will be provided as the work demands to do extra typing and filing of Commission records.
