HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1975-10-02 RegularREGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION October 2, 1975 A Regular Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held on Thursday, October 2, 1975 at the Friendswood City Hall with Chairman Tracy Spears presiding. Members Present Members Absent Tracy Spears, Chairman Bob Phillips Clyde Raney, Vice -Chairman Ken Fossler Leah North, Secretary Ed Zeitler (Council Rep.) Jim Shore The meeting was called to order at 8:15 p.m. Minutes of previous meeting were not available. I. Sunmeadow Subdivision Tennis Courts. Ralph Lowe was present with prelimi- nary plans for tennis courts and club house to be constructed in Sunmeadow Subdivision. Mr. Lowe was advised this matter should go before the Board of Adjustment. II. Renwick Village Subdivision - Preliminary Approval. George Offenberger submitted preliminary plans for approval. He was advised that before he submits final plans, the Commission would need to know where the water and sewer tie into the subdivision and a tap would need to be shown for each lot, with elevations and locations. Motion made by Raney, seconded by North to recommend Renwick Village for preliminary approval. Spears, Raney, North For, Shore Against (because of overloading of sewer facilities). Motion Passed. III. Forest Creek_ Subdivision - Preliminary Approval. Preliminary plans had been submitted by Ray Diamond at Regular Meeting of September 18, 1975. Mr. Diamond stated that Clearwood Improvement District, which provides sewer service to Wedgewood Village, would consider annexing Forest Creek if there was no question regarding Friendswood's Extra -Territorial Jurisdiction. He stated if he received preliminary approval under our ETJ he would then go back to Clearwood for approval. It was noted by the Commission, and red -lined on the preliminary plans, that instead of the 10 foot side setback as shown, the setback would need to be 20 feet. Mr. Diamond agreed with this request. Raney moved, Shore seconded a motion that Forest Creek Subdivision be accepted for preliminary approval as red -lined (with the understanding sewer will be going to Clearwood Improvement District). Unanimous For. Mr. Diamond was informed a documentation of acceptance from Clearwood Im- provement District would be needed before final approval could be made. (Contingent upon city ordinance giving ETJ approval). PU C Regular Meeting October 2, 1975 -2- IV. Spears and Raney reported on a meeting with Bill Olson, City Attorney, in Houston on Thursday, September 25, regarding changes in the Zoning Ordinance. V. The remainder of the meeting was spent discussion revisions and changes in the Zoning Ordinance. VI. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Re rding Secretary 13
