MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
July 6, 1978
The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Corrnnission met in a regular meeting on Thursday July 6, 1978 in the City Hall with the following members present:

With a quorl.Dll present the following business was transacted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES -minutes of regular meetings of June 15, and June 25, 1978 were approved as read.
LEWIS SIMONS -WEDGEWOOD PARK
Mr, Simons asked approval of a park area on the East side of Blackhawk, being the location is in our extra territorial jurisdiction, The Corrnnission could forsee no problem with the plans.
MOTION: (R, Phillips) to approve Wedgewood Park. Second: Rawley Vote: Unanimous FOR MOTION CARRIE D
ERNIE MATT -SUBDIYISION ON LUNDY 1ANE & FM 528 (Thoroughbred farm)
Mr. Matt asked the Corrnnission for acceptance of a subdivision of 2 8 lots on Lundy Lane. Mr. Matt presented a plat which a.ad been reviewed by the Corrnnission in 1976. The 102.71 acres had been platted in 1911 in 10 acre tracts, and has not been replated since that time. Mr. Matt informed the Corronission that in 1976 he had an agr>eement from the Planning and Zoning Corronission to split the 10 acre tracts into 2 1/2 and 5 acre lots.
The Corrnnission is to take his request under advisement.
JOINT PUBLIC HEARING (see attached minutes)
ED KHARBET -SUNPARK ESTATES
At this time the Drainage District has not given final approval of the drainage plat. The Corrnnission adiised him to rneet and confer with the Drainage District.

MAINLAND SAVINGS
The devel opers of Ma:inland Savings are propos:ing a new building on FM 2351. The new bu ild:ing will have 9025 square feet. The Corranission advised the Eleveloper to consult with the City Eng:ineer and asked for sidewalks.
AL 0 1 FARR.ELL -SUBDIVISION AT WINDING WAY AND FM 518 (pre-app)
Mr. 0 1 Farrell is propos:ing a 34 lot sul:xiivision to be split out of a 33.48 acre tract. It is to have concrete street and open ditch, The Corranission agreed it to be a good concept.
Discussion -Rezon:ing request for Child Development Center on W:indsong.
After all the iterrs of bus:iness were considered, a discussion of the rezon:ing request of Kent Ballard was undertaken. Follow:ing the discus ·sion a notinn was made.
MOTION: (R. Mora) to reject the rezon:ing request of rezoning reserve "B 1•1 of W:indsong Sub division from R-1 to Specific-Use Child Developernent Center. Second: H. Rawley Vote: Unanimous FOR MOTION CARRIED
A motion was made for adjournment. The rneet:ing adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
