MINU1ES OF A REGULAR MEETING
FRIENDSWOOD Pl.ANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
January 19, 1978
The Friendswcx:xi Planning and Zoning Commission rret in a regular rreeting on Thursday January 19, 1978 at 7: 30 p.m., in the City Hall with the following rrembers present:

With a quorum present and Jarres Tarr, and P. J. Mize absent, the following business was transacted:
APPROVAL OF MINUTES -Minutes of a regular rreeting of January 5,
1978 were approved as corrected. The correction being on the topic of friendswcx:xi west , which showJ1d read:
The drives on Segalquest should be arranged so traffic would head out onto the street. ((P)) Builders will be responsible to construct sidewalks throughout the subdivision.
TED BOGREN -STONESIFER PLACE SUBDIVISION (prelim in�)
Mr. Bogren presented plans for a 2 lot subdivision at Murphy Lane and Greenbriar. The lots being 384.36' X 149.6'·. If feasible the sewer system will be tied into that of Glenshannon Subdivision and water onto Greenbriar.
MOTION: (R. Mora) to approve preliminary plat of Stonesifer Place Subdivision. Second: Harold Rawley Vo�e: Unan:i.m::>us FOR MOTION CARRIED
TED BOGREN -QUAKER VILLAGE
Mr. Bogren submitted the plat for a 5.54 acre tract to have du plexes at Quaker. The pr oject is to contain 30 units. The Commission asked Mr. Bogren to consider the arrangerrent of the units and interior streets, in order to eliminate traffic backing out onto the surrounding streets.

MR. MC ANDREWS -REZONING OF CROWN CENTRAL PROPERTY FROM R-1 TO SPE CIFIC�USE'OIL"WELL"AND"REIATED STRUCTURES
Mr. McAndrews came before the Commission reqq.esting a zoning change for drilling purposes.
MOTION: (H. Rawley) to call a public hearing for February
,9, 1978 at 7: 30 p.m. on rezoning 31. 505 acres (lots 42, 53, and 54, Sec. 22 I&Gn RR Co.) to Specific-Use Oil Well and related structures from R-1. Second: Ray Utley Vote: Unani.Jrous FOR MOTION CARRIED
ED LEWIS -SHO PPING CENTER
Mr. Lewis came before the Commission asldng for the procedures on presenting plans for a shopping center for their approval.
The Commission adivsed him of the necessary procedures and rrade him aware of important items of consideration.
Mr. Lewis did not give a location for his plans.
MR. UJPO -TOWER PERMIT ON LUNDY
Mr. Lupo came before the Commission in order to gain approval for a building permit to erect a television tower for Christian programs at 1400 Lundy.
Mr. Lupo had previously been before the Corrunission on December 2, 1976 for the same purpose, at that tine he was advised the property would have to be rezoned and procedures for such. (Mr. Lupo was given a copy of the minutes reflecting this information of Dec. 2, 1976).
The Commission advised Mr. Lupo these procedures would still have to be followed and the property rezoned to Specific-Use, before a permit could be issued.
MOTION : (Robert Phillips) to call a public hearing for Feb. 16, 1978 to rezone lots 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 of the Van Pelt Subdivision to Specific-Use Christian T. V. Station, Church, Christian school and houses for needy from R-1. Second: R. Utley Vote: Unanirrous FOR MOTION CARRIED
ROBERT IAWRENCE -EXTENSION TO THE "HAUNTED HO USE"
Plans for an extension to the Haunted House were presented to the Commission for a building permit. The Commission could not approve for a permit , being a non-conforming use. The property would have to be rezoned.

JOAN BRAND -ARROW CONSTRUCTION
Mrs. Brand cmae before the Corrmtl.ssion in order to obtain a building permit for a residence at Castlewood and Bales Lane. The Commission informed Mrs. Brand the property was not in a platted subdivision, therefore at this time the subject was tabled until further inforrration can be obtained.
JACK TEMPLEMAN -HOME AT NARNIA WAY
Mr. Templeman was advised his land was not in a platted subdivision, therefore a building permit could not be issued for a home.
ADJOURNMENT - A rrotion was made for adjournment. The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
