HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1979-08-02 Regular[ -i [ l I MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION August 2, 1979 The Freindswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a regular meeting on Thursday August 2, 1979 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Hall with the following members present: T.Spears -ChairmanB.Wicklander -Vice ChairmanD.HoltH.RawleyB.Wetzel With a quorum present and Glen Cress and Robert Phillips absent, the following items of business were considered: RANCHO VIiE:JO II Covenants were presented for the subdivision. Article 21 concerning the nutshell wystem is to be reviewed. Also, the Commission asked for the prohibiting of re-subdivision of lots. DON ROBERTS -DUNBAR TOWNHOMES Mr. Roberts came before the Commission asking for the former restrictions on sidewalks to be removed. The Commission agreed there was no feasible way for the sidewalks to be installed. MOTION: (Wetzel) to remove the restriction of sidewalks on the preliminary of the Dunbar Townhomes. Second: Rawley Vote: Unanimous FOR MOTION CARRIED FOREST BEND APARTMENTS (pre-app) Mr. Robert Graham presented plans for the development of apartments off Blackhawk near FM 528. They consist of 118 apartments on approximately 6.5076 acres. The Commission asked that diminsions and the esplanade on Blackhawk be depicted on the preliminary plans. RECOMMENDATIONS TO COUNCIL The Commission discussed firewalls in multiple dwellings and wood shingles. They agreed that the City Attorney should be consulted before making a recommendation to the Council to revise the City's Code. f l l MOTION: (Rawley) to send a memo to the Council addressing fire proof roofs for all construction similar to Houston's new ordinance concerning multi-family dwellings.
