HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1979-06-07 Regularn 11 l MINUTES OF A REBULAR MEEITNG FRIENDSWOOD Pl.ANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION June 7, 1979 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a regular meeting on Thursday June 7, 1979 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Hall with the following members present. T.Spears -ChairmanR.Wicklander -Vice ChairmanG.CressD.HoltR.PhillipsR.Wetzel With a quorum present and H. Rawley Absent, the following business was transacted. Vickie Black was also present. Janet Berthiaume Janet Berthiaume came before the Commission to present updating Comprehensive Plan for the City, she would like for the Commission to study these plans and will return before the Commission June 21, 1979. Autumn Hills Nursing Home Mrs. Beam the Administrator for the Autumn Hills Nursing Home requested permission to leave their back gate open for their delivery trucks and the city's sanitation trucks. A Homeowner living near the Nursing Home was present and expressed his feelings about the Dwnpsters at the Home. His complaint was the odor and the view they caused in the area. The Commission requested they would like to see.the dumpsters enclosed with a 6 1 solid fence. Mrs. Beam replied, she did not have the authority to agree to this request. This subject was tabled until June 2°1, 1979 when someone with authority for the Nursing Home could be present. Regency Estates Mr. Ken Powers presented plans for replat of Sections I thru V -Regency Estates Briarmeadow & Sunset Drive. The plans are same as the original plat only now into five (5) sections. fl I l lJ Minutes of a Regular Meeting 2. Regency Estates Continued: Sections I and IV are ready for approval. MOTION: SECOND: VOTE: Tom Stiebler June 7, 1979 (R. Wetzel) to approve Regency Estates replat Sections I and IV. Glen Cress FOR Unanimous Mr. Stiebler requested permission to build a garage at 212 E. Edgewood. This will be a residential garage 24 x 36. Later on Mr. Stiebler plans to start a repair business at this garage. Commission saw no problems as this location is in a C-1 Zone. MOTION: SECOND: VOTE: Janice Hill (D. Holt) to approve a garage to be built for repair business & residential. at 212 E. Edgewood B.WetzelFOR Una.nimJus Janice Hill came before the Commission requesting permission to finish a house at 208 E. Castleharbor. The Commission received the survey map and everything was in order. MOTION·: SECOND: VOTE: Steve Jarnigan (B. Wetzel) ,approve request to finish building house at 208 E. Castleharbour. R.WicklanderFOR Una.nimJus Mr. Jarnigan presented plans on 5.4 acres bounded by Clearview, Quaker Drive, Skyview for developing Duplexs. The plans consist of 30 living units on 18 lots. Lots are 122½'deep. The living units are 1400 to 1500 sq. ft. The price range is $100,000.00. The commission agreed it would be advisable for the Traffic Engineer to study the street patterns, curb cuts, traffic congestion and problems of density. Would like advantages and disadvantages. !l [ I lJ Minutes of a Regular Meeting . 3. June 7, 1979 Rancho Viejo #2 -Pre-App. Ted Bogren presented plans for Rancho Viejo #2. The homes will be developed on 150 acres, 43 lots approxinately 3.25 acres per lot. The development will have the (Nutt-Shell) Sewage Treatment _Systems. The Nutt­Shell System was approved by the City Council June 4, 1979. The Commission agreed the plans with the large lots are desirable. Queens Lane Mr. Ralston requested to build three (3) houses on Queens Lane on approximately 3,75 acres and add a private drive back to his house. Members of the commission would like to review plans.
