MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
December 4, 1980
The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a regular meeting on Thursday December 4, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall with the following members present:
R.Wicklander -ChairmanL.BrownR.WetzelG.CressC.BeggsR.Atcheson
With a quorum present and D. Holt absent, the following items of business were considered:
REZONING -OIL FIELD ROAD
MOTION: (Wetzel) to approve the request for recommendation to Council the rezoning of a 3.2 acre tract out of a 67.354 acre tract out of the B. T. Masterson survey located partly in Brazoria County and partly in Galveston County from R-1 to M-1. Second: Beggs Vote:* FOR Wicklander R.WetzelC.BeggsR.Atcheson
AGAINST Cress Brown
MOTION CARRIED
*Before the vote was taken the Chairman asked the Commissionfor their comments.
Cress -(1) The only access from the property into the city would be Mustang Meadows and Windsong and the roads not being designed for heavy traffic. (2)No control of the type business for anyother industrial operation. (3) Windsong IIprotected by deed restrictions. (4)Spot Zoning.Beggs -No comment Brown -No control in the future of the M-1 zone in the use or location. The rezoning would be opening the community to this zone. Atcheson -Good location for a M-1 zone in the oil field. Good use of the property. Streets could be police d to prohibit traffic through Windsong.

Wetzel -No comment Wicklander -Would like to see a temporary permit but according to the City Attorney this can not be done. In recommendation to council he would like to see a temporary flexible zoning if possible.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION: (Cress) to approve the minutes of the November 20, 1980 meeting as read. Second: Wetzel Vote: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED
CANCELATION FO MEETINGS
MOTION: (Atcheson) to cancel the meetings of December 18, 1980 meeting and the January 1, 1981 meeting. Second: Wetzel Vote: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED
A motion was made for adjournment. The meeting adjourned at s,os p.m.
