MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
November 20, 1980
The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a regular meeting on Thursdya, November 20, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall. The following members were present:
R.Wicklander -ChairmanB.WetzelR.AtchesonG.CressL.Brown
With a quorum present and D. Holt and C. Beggs absent, the following items of business were considered:
MR. LEHMAN -REZONING ON SHADOWBEND
Mr. Lehman stated his request for the rezoning in order to place a duplex on the lot and sell one half.
George Calk explained if the property were rezoned to R-4, the land could be sold and a variance would be needed on the set-back requirement. This would need to be granted by the Board of Adjustment.
MOTION: (L. Brown) to hold a joint Public Hearing for the rezoning of the lot at 206 Shadowbend from R-2 to R-4 on January 15, 1981. Second: B. Wetzel Vote: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED
DISCUSSION -REZONING REQUEST ON OIL FIELD ROAD
After discussion, the Commission decided to table the subject until a later date. Teh Commission wants to consider the question of rezoning a small area�-1 in the middle of a R-1 district.
MOTION: (B. Wetzel) to table until the next meeting, December 4, 1980. Second: G. Cress Vote: RL_Wi�kl�nder, G. C�es�, .. B .. Wet�el, L. Brown FOR R.Atcheson AGAINST MOTION CARRIED
R.Doss wished to be put in record his feeling of being harassed.

MRS. WHITLEY - REZONING AT SUNNYVIEW AND QUAKER
Mrs. Whitley stated, her property was formerly zoned R-2 but now appears on the zoning map as R-1. They wish it to remain with a R-2 Classification. The Commission felt it may be an oversite.They are to look into the possibility.
JOHN WILLIAMS -SERA PARK
Mr. Williams stated he would like their support in their position for Parkland.
After much discussion the Commission decided on their reply. (see attached letter from Friendswood Planning & Zoning Commission)
MOTION: (G. Cress) to send reply to Parks Committee. Second: B. Wetzel Vote: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED
DISCUSSION -REZONING FOR RETIREMENT
MOTION: (R. Wetzel). to hold a joint public hearing on January 15, 1981 to rezone from R-1 to Specific-Use· Retirement Home lot 2, block 1, Friendswood Subdivision. Second: G. Cress Vote: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED
A motion was made for adjournment. The meeting adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
