MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
April 3, 1980
The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a regular meeting on Thursday April 3, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Hall with the following members present:

With all members present, the following items of business were considered:
ERNIE MATT & DARELL YOUNGBLOOD -SHOPPING CNETER ON FM 518 & FM 528.
Mr. Matt & Mr. Youngblood discussed plans for a shopping Center to be constructed on the NW corner of FM 518 and FM 528 that would cover a 4 ½ acre tract. The Commission discussed drainage of the area and the future expansion of FM 518 into 4 lanes. The Commission at this time are in agreement tome concept of the plans.
WILLA JEAN WHITE -GARAGE APARTMENT AT 104 MELODY LANE
Mrs. White came before the Commission asking approval for a garage apartment behind her residence at 104 Melody Lane.
The property is zoned R-1. The Commission informed Mrs. White it would need to be rezoned for the purpose of building an apartment. Mrs. White explained that the apartment would be for a family member and would not be rented. The Commission suggested she construct an add on to her home. Therefore, with it tied to the home with an entrance through her home, it could not be classified as rental and she would not need to rezone the property. Mrs. White is to consult her archetect.
DISCUSSION OF REZONING 272.16 ACRES ACROSS FROM SUNMEADOW
Each of the Commissioners stated their views on the rezoning of the property. After all of the comments were heard, two concerns were shared by all of the Commissioners, these were the provision for a greenbelt along the Highway frontage and limiting the access from FM 528 .

MOTION: (Wetzel) to table the subject until meeting of April 17, 1980. Second: Atcheson Vote: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED
A motion was made for adjournment. The meeting adjourned at 10:10 p.m.
