MINUTES OF A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
May 21, 1981
The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a Joint Public Hearing on Thursday May 21, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present:
R.Wetzel -ChairmanR.AtchesonC.BeggsG.CressT.HaanszB.Glines
With a quorum present, and L. Brown absent, the following items were heard:
PUBLIC HEARING -Ordinance 323 (signs) Section 1, 6.n, eliminate all of No. 2 thereunder which allows the use of portable signs under certain conditions.
Some fifteen citizens addressed the subject with additional comments from members of the Council and Commission. One person spoke in favor of portable signs; three people were in favor of eliminating portable signs from the ordinance but felt that the ordinance as a whole is working well. The general consensus of the balance of the speakers seemed to be that if it is determined that this portion of the ordinance can be enforced, let it remain as is.
PUBLIC HEARING -Ordinance 291, Section 7, eliminate the five uses permitted in the C-2 District and add these same five uses to be permitted in the C-1 District.
The one person wishing to speak said he had no objection to changing the first three uses from C-2 to C-1. He was informed that only these three were under consideration; the public notice was in error in indication the number as five.
With no others wishing to speak, the public hearing was adjourned. &rgu §a-, Sec etary
