HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1981-04-13 Joint Public Hearingu MINUTES OF A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMI3SION April 13, 1981 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a joint public hearing on April 13, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall with the following members present: R.Wetzel -ChairmanT.HannszB.GlinesG.CressR.AtchesonC.BeggsL.Brown With a quorum present the following items of business were considered: PUBLIC HEARING -Rezoning lots 29, 30, and 31 of block 1, Annalea Addition Section I from R-1 to C-2. The Chairman asked the person making the request to state his reason. Mr. Lunz -stated the property has been owned and maintained by the church for 7 years. The pipelines make it impossible to sell for residentail. FHA will not approve for a loan due to the pipelines. By changing to a commercial zone for sale of the property addition funds for the church would better serve the community. Richard Perry -was also in favor of the change. The chairman asked for the public in opposition to speak. Van Williams -President of the Civic Club opposed due to (1)Deed restrictions prohibit Commercial­(2) No liquor or U-Totems needed(3)Problem with back parking lot. Don Little Deed restrictions and traffic congestion Mary Little Childrens safety with a traffic problem. The hearing closed at 8:10 p.m. �faw!�I� Secme ,
