HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1982-08-19 Regular[ 11 L MINUTES OF A REGULA R MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWO OD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION August 19, 198 2 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission met in a Regular Meeting on Thursday, August 19, 1982, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall. The following Co mm issioners were present. Glen Cress -Chairman Charles Beggs Ken Hoppe Ralph Miller Tom Sheeran With a quorum present, and with Atcheson and Gl ines absent, the following business was transacted. MA RY QU EEN ROAD Councilman Wicklander told the Commission the Council had agreed to accept Queen's Lane �s a 500 1 long, 40 1 wide concrete street after it is paved to the City speci fications. The 40' wide street would consist of 30 1 width from the Lunney family and a 10 1 wide strip from the Mary Queen Church. The Plann ing Commiss ion concurred with the Council's agreement. SERA PARK A request to rezone 42.8 acres (15 acres from R-1 to C-1 the remainder from R-1 to R-4) A request was made by Dr. Franz Trustee to rezone, it was noted that the developers would like to develop townhomes in the R-4 zone but they woul d no t exceed the density called for in the R-3 zone. [ u Page 2 August 19, 1982 The Commission discussed the possibi lit y of updating the zoning ordinance to permit the de velopment of townhomes in the R-3 zone. The Commission called a Special Meeting for futher discussion and possible recommendations to Council for changes to the Zoning Ordinance. The meeting will be Thursday, August 26, 1982. MOTION: (Glines) to work on the zoning ordinance for rec·ommended changes to Co uncil. SECOND: (Mi ller) VOTE: Unanimous FO R MOTION CARRIED PUBLIC HEARING The Planning and Zoning Commission ca lled a Public Hearing for Septe mber 16, 1982, at 8:00 p.m. in the City Hall, Council Chambers for rezoning of Sera Park. The request is for 15 acres fr om R-1 to C-1 and 27.8 from R-1 to R-3. The meeting was adjourned .. )}mt .. /!� Ruth P. Henry -Seer�
