MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
November 10, 1983
A special meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, November 10, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members pres ent.
Cress -Chairman Beggs Hoppe Jones Vice Brown Miller
With a quorum present and with none absent, the following business was transacted.
The Planning and Zoning Commission called this special meeting to interview candidates to recommend to Council to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission should a vacancy occur.
MR. BOB BELDEN
Mr. Belden has resided in Friendswood for 3 years in the Eagles Point subdivision. He is employed by S&B Construction Division as mechanical engineer. He has been involved in City Government where he previously resided and feel he has the time to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commissio n.
MR. TOM WRIGHT
Mr. Wright has resided in Friendswood for 3 years and lives in the Pilgrims Point subdivision. He owns the Eight Days Inn in Webster and another one in Harliengton, Texas. Mr. Wright has a background in Real Estate and feel he has the time to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

LETTER TO COUNCIL
MOTION: (BROWN) To send a letter to the City Council on Mr. Belden and Mr. Wright being interviewed by the Planning and Zoning Com mi ssion. ·(Letter below)
SECOND: (M ILLER) VOTE: Unani�ous FOR MOTION CARRIED
LETTER
The Planning and Zoning Commission has interviewed 2 candidates as possible future Planning and L.Oning Commissioners should a·n opening occur. Both candidates, Bob Belden and Tom Wright ap pear to be well qualified and motivat0d to serve on this Commission.
We feel tnat Mr. Belden would be our first choice at this time, however we would be pleased to h,1ve either of these cadidates serve on this Commission.
MOTION: (MILLER) To send a letter to the City Council requestinq the removal of-Leslie
SECOND: (HOPPE)
Vice from the Planning and Zoning Commission. The reasons being his absen te eism and a potential conflict of interest because of his employment.
VOTE: FOR Miller, Hoppe, Brown, Cress, Beggs and Jones AGAINST: NONE
MOTION CARRIED.
