MINUTES OF A REGUL AR MEETING OF THE FRIE NDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION September 1, 1983
A Regular Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Com mission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, September 1, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present.
Cress -Chairman Miller -JonesBeggsHoppe
With a quorum present and with Brown and Vice absent, the following business was transacted.
PUBLIC HEARING -EAST CASTELWOOD R-2 TO R�3
3.2 acres located on East Castlewood now zoned R-2, the request is for R-3, for 18 patio homes consisting of 18 units.
A number of concerend citizens were in the audinece their concern being the drainage, traffic hazzard the patio homes would add to their street. Several spoke in opposition of the multi-family, others only concerns were the drainage and traffic.
The public hearing was closed.
PUBLIC HEARING -203 SKYVIEW R-2 to SPECIFIC USE -CHILD CARE
203 Skyview now zoned R-2 requesting Specific Use for the purpose of child care.
MOTON (Hoppe) To recommend to Council the rezoning of
203 Skyview from R-2 to Specific Use for a day care, having a maximum of eight children on the premises. The home will be used as a residence type day care cen ter. SECOND: (Jones) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED

PUBLIC HEARING -F. M. 528 -135 ACRES -SPECIFIC USE TO R-1
A request to rezone 135 acres on F.M. 528 from Specific Use to R-1. Only one person spoke in opposition, Mr. Jim Doyle representing the adjacent property. Mr. Doyle feels if the 135 acres is rezoned R-1 it would lessen his chances of rezoning the adjacent property from R-1 to R-3. He feels all property on major roads is best used for multi-famlly .
MOTION: (Jones) To recommend to Council the rezoning of 135 acres on F.M. 528 from Specific Use to R-1.
SECOND: (Miller) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR
The public hearing was closed.
MOTION CARRIED.
The Planning and Zoning Commission called a Special Meeting for Thursday, September 8, 1983.
The meeting was adjourned.
