HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1983-11-03 RegularI MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION November 3, 1983 A regular meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, November 3, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present. Cress -Chairman Beggs Hoppe Miller Jones With a quorum present and with Vice and Brown absent, the following business was transacted. MHB -ETJ PROPERTY The developers of property located on F.M. 2351 re-submitted plans for the construction of Phase II and II of the Baywood apartments. The developers have placed a detention pond, a 10' tree line, a 6' fence between the homes on Blackhawk and the building line of the apartments. The plat indicates and ingress-egerss through property owned .by a school district. MHB indicated they are to meet with the owners on the purch ase of a right-a-way for an ingress-egress to F.M. 2351. MHB proposes to exit phase A through the already existing apartment drive and to exit phase Bon Blackhawk via Bentwood if they can purchase the land for the road. The Commission feels they can't give approval on a concept with­out sufficient information on a street layout and traffic flow. MOTION: (Mi ller) To disapprove the plat presented by MHB (1)Traffic plan unacceptable(2).Plat does not comply with thepreliminary plat procedure of Ordinance#210. I I \· lJ Page 2 November 3, 1983 MHB SECOND: (Jones) VOTE: Unanimous FOR MOTION CARRIED PRE-APP PATIO HOMES -WINDINGWAY AND F.M. 528 Mr. Ro berts and Mr. Montgomery presented a pre-app of 11.6 acres on F.M. 528 for patio homes. The acreage is zoned R-4 which allows 9 units per acre. They are requesting to build 7 units per acre would like the set back of 25' reduced to 10'. The Commission feels perhaps a cluster development would provide more green area than the 4�'x 85' lots with small set back of 10'. BAYBROOK FOREIGN CARS Clyde Jackson is considering the purchase of 1.3 acres on Melody Lane to relocate his car repair business. He would like to rezone the 1.3 acres from R-1 to C-1. The Com mission advised Mr. Jackson he could fill out an application for re-zoning. A.Special Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission wascalled for November 10, 1983, for the purpose of interv iewingcandidates interested in serving on the Planning and ZoningCommission.
