HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1983-06-16 Regular[ I MINUTES OF A REGULAR ME ETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZO NING COMMISSION June 16, 1983 A Regular Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, June 16, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present. Cress -Chairman Hoppe Beggs Jones Vice Brown Miller With a quorum present and with none absent, the following business was transacted. MITCH MITCHELL -PRE APP -.SUNSET ACRES Mitch Mitchell presented a drawing of a proposed 5 lot subdivision between Mills Drive and Murph y Road. The drawi ng of the five lots showed the frontage across the five lots to be 598.4' City requirements are 600'. Mr. Mitchell told the Co mmission a survey has not been done. The Planning and Zoning Commission requested Mr. Mitchell have a survey done and made the following motion. MOTION: (Jones) To accept in principal until a survey is made. If after the suvey the 5 lot frontage is no less than 598' to return to the P&Z for a final. SE COND: (Brown) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIE D r·1 11 I l Page 2 June 16, 1983 MITCH MITCHELL -CONDOMINIUMS -F.M. 528 AND BLACKHAWK Mitch Mitchell proposes to build condominiums on 12.53 acres with a density of 18 units per acre and a shopping center on 2.7 acres located on F.M. 528 and Blackhawk. MOTION: (Vice) To give approval to the Commercial. SE COND: (Miller) To give approval to the condominiums with a density of 18 units per acre. VOTE: FOR: Cress, Beggs, Jones, Vice, Brown and Miller AGAINST: Hoppe MOTION CARRIED REGENCY ESTATES REPLAT -PRELIMINARY The developers presented a preliminary replat of Regency Estates Section II to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Memos were received from the following departments. The police deparmtne indicating they had reviewed the pland and no problems are forseen. The fire department is requesting additional fire bydrants. The Public Works Director requested the engineering drawings show specific type of utility lines be used and the type of back fill materials. MOTION: (Miller) To give preliminary approval contingent on the following. SECOND: (Brown) 1.3 fire hydrants2. specific type of utility linesto be used3.type of back fill materials tobe used. VOTE: FOR Cress, Brown, Miller, Vice and Beggs AGAINST Hoppe ABSTAINED Jones MOTION CARRIED (7 Ll Page 3 June 16, 1983 THE PART -REPLAT -PRELIMINARY Mr. Bogren presented a replat of The Park eliminating one and a half blocks which would lower the density. MOTION: (Brown) To give preliminary replat approval of The Park. SECOND: (J ones) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Called a Special Meeting for June 23, 1983. WHITMIRE -REZONING REQUEST Mrs. Whitmire is requesting to rezone 4.6 acres from R-1 to R-2. The property is located on F.M. 2351across from Red Top. The public hearing was calledfor July 11, 1983. SLONE SUBDIVISION � PATIAL REPLAT LOTS 117 and 118-FINAL A final plat of the Slone Subdivision Lots 117 and 118 was presented to the Planning and Zoning Com mission. MOTION: (J ones) To give final appro val of a partial replat of the Slone Subdivision lots 117 and 118. SECOND: (Vice) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MINUTES FOR APPROVAL MOTION CARRIED Minutes for May 19, 1983 -approved as read. The meeting was adjourned. Ru�nt-=
