I l MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING -AND ZONING COMMISSION March 10, 1983 A Regular Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, March 10, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the foll owing memb ers present. Cress -Chairman Hoppe Brown Miller Beggs With a quorum present, and with Bill y Glines absent, the following business was transacted. ZONING ORDINANCE The Commission discussed the R-2 and R-3 density which is the same, the only difference being the set back and lot area requirements. They discussed the po ssib ility of changing R-2 to duplexes or single family only and removing multi-family from permitted uses. The Commission discussed the po ssibility of the establishment of a central business district and the district would be restr icted to one area. The other areas would fall under community shopping, neighborhood, or office park with different requ irements. RECOMMENDATION·ON REZONING 0F 4;5 ACRES A joint pub lic hearing was held January ,6, 198 3, regarding 4.6 acres on F.M. 2351 across from Red Top. The request to rezone 4.6 acres from R-1 to R-3. MOTION: (MILLER) to recommend to City Council SECOND: ( BROWN) the rezoning of 4.6 acres on F.M. 2351 from R-1 to R-3. VOTE: FOR: Miller, Cress and Brown AGAINST: Be ggs and Hoppe MOTION CARRIED
