HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1983-04-28 SpecialI l 11 l MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION- April 28, 1983 A Special Meeting of the Friendswood Planning anc Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, April 28, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present. Beggs -Vice Cha irman Hoppe Miller Vice Brown With a quorum present and with Chairman, Glen Cress absent, the following business was transacted. Mayor Lowe administered the oath of office to Bill Jones as a··new member of the Planning and Zoning Commission replacing Billy Glines. QUAKER VILLAGE A final plat of Quaker Village was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Quaker Village is located on the corners of Quaker, Skyview and Clearview. Quaker Village townhomes will consist of 32 units on 5.423 acres. MOTION: (Miller) To give final plat approval of Quaker Village Townhomes. SECOND : (Brown) VOTE: FOR Beggs, Hoppe, Brown and Miller ABSTAINED: Jones and Vice Motion Carried r1 I Page 2 April 28, 1983 COUCILMAN LEON BROWN r Councilman Leon Brown addressed the Planning and Zoning Commission regarding the City Council's recommendation to the Federal-Aid Urban System Program (1983-1986). The Council is requesting the widening of F.M. 528 to a four­lane configuration beginni ng at a point approximately 0.6 of a mile west of the Chigger Creek Bridge and proceeding easterly to the bridge located on Clear Creek on F.M. 528. The project should include the construction of a new four­lane bridge over Chigger Creek. The Council believes that the traffic load on F.M. 528 warrants this construction, into one single project. The City could acquire the necessary right-of-way if the Highway Department gives its approval to this program. The meeting was adjourned. Ruth P. Henry -Secretary,
