HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1983-03-03 Regular1-, I I MI NUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING CO MMISSION March 3, 1983 A Reg ular Meeting of the Fr iend swood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hal l on Thursday, March 3, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present. Cres s -Chairman Hoppe Brown Miller Beggs With a quorum present, and ·with Glines absent, the foll owing business was transa cted. REGENCY ESTATES -BILL JONES Bill Jones is asking to change zoning in Regency Estates: part of R-3 to R-1 and part of C-1 to R-3; R-3 presently being 9.7620 acres. After requested change R-3 would be 9.024 acres. C-1 is present ly 13.7312 acres and after requested change it would be 7.793 acres. The Commission advised him to make application for rezoning. Reviewing proposed plans Commission recommended deleting the exit on F.M. 528 and moving the, exit to Balmoral Court THE PARK -TED BOGREN A preliminary plat was presented to the Commission. A letter from the Police Department stated that in their opinion the entrance could be moved 100' minimum or 200' maximum toward the bridge on F.M. 528 without creating a traffic problem. A letter is also being forwarded to the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation for informati on on the requirement for right-of-way along F.M. 528 with in our City limits. ri u Page 3 March 3 , 19 8 3 QUAKER VILLAGE Quak er Village was platted and app roved in 1981. The prop�rty is zoned R-3. and was platted to build 12 duplexes and 6 single family ho mes. Mr£. Ham mersley wants to buil d all duplexes which would exc eed the density of the 5.423 acres. Mrs. Hammersl ey then asked the Com mission to consider making the 12 lots of duplexes into 10 lots to co mply with the density. The Commission is not in favor of removing the R-1 buff er zone facing Quaker Drive. The Commission advised her that it would require a replat and they would give it consi deration. She was ask ed to attend their next regula r meeting. A Special meeting was ca lled for March 10, 1983 to wor kshop the zoning ordinance. MINUTES FOR APPROVAL February 3, 1983 -approved as corrected.
