MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
March 17, 1983
A Regular Meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, March 17, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present.

With a quorum present, and with Bi lly Glines and Charles Beggs absent, the fo-lowing business was transacted.
OFFICE BUIL DING -R.M. 518 -CA STLEWOOD -CEDARWOOD
Dr. Groba and Mr. Coffman presented a site plan for 2 office buildings on 4 1/2 acres on the corners of F.M. 518, Castlewood and Ce darwood. They want to start with building A consisting of 20 thousand square feet and bei ng two stor±es high. The building will be constructed of steel and glass. One entrance is shown on Cast lewood and two on Cedarwood. The Commission flet that the entrance on the corner of Cedarwood and Castlewood was to close to the corner and asked that the entrance be moved down. The Com missio n also wants to check with Mr. Meinecke, the Public Works Direc tor, on the right-of-way needed on Cedarwood for the future widening of the street. They also requested a side walk 5 1 mini mum along Cast lewood, F.M. 518 and Cedarwood. The site plan sh ows building B to be 3 stories and the developers were advised this must be checked rega rding city policies on a building over 2 stories high.

QUfKER VILLAGE -PRE APP REVIEW FOR REPLAT
Mrs. Hammersley presented a drawing of 32 to wnhomes for considera tion, ·1ocated on the corners of Skyview, Clearview, and Quaker. The drawing located 16 townhomes facing Quaker, 8 facing Skyview and 8 facing Clearview. The drive in entrance would be fr om the rear of the buildings with closed garages and green belt and re creation area in the rear. The Commission indicated they would like to see as much green area as possible facing the 3 streets. The Commission requested Mrs. Hammersley to return to their next meeting with build-ing profiles showing the green areas surrounding the buildings.
MAYOR LOWE
Mayor Lowe administe red the oath of off ice to Leslie Vice as a new member of the Planning and Zoning Commission replacing Tom Sheeran. He also spoke with the Commission about establishing by laws for the Commission.

The meeting was adjourned.
