MINUTES OF A REG ULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD
PLANNING AND ZONING COM MISSION
May 3, 1984
A regular meeting of the Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, May 3, 1984, at 7:30 .p.m ... with the following members present.

With a quorum present and with none absent, the following business was transacted.
WALDEN POND SECTION 4 -PRELIMINARY
A preliminary plat of Walden Pond Section 4 consisting of 58 units-was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission. A memo from the Fire Marshal stating all parking within fifteen curb feet to either side of a fire hydrant must be removed and the curb in front of the fire hydrant should be painted in accordance with the Frie ndswood City Code. The Fire �arshal also stated the plat shows a looped fire hydrant water line. However·he said at the northeast side of this loop, diagram shows that the six inch water line is reduced to a three inch water line. He says this is totally inadequate for a looped water system and no fire hydrant should be on any part of a water system loop that at any point gets smaller than six inches. This is extremely important in a project which has as much wood construction as this one. The Planning and Zoning Commission would like more clarification from the Fire Marshal on the looped fire hydrant water line.

The Planning and Zoning Commission received no input from the Police Department on Walden Pond Section 4. The plat must also be reviewed by another engineer since Malcolm Collins the City Engineer prepared the engineering on �he plans.
CAR WASH SYSTEMS OF TEXAS
Norm Lacy presented drawings for a car wash located inFriendswood Cr ossing on F.M. 518 and F.M. 528. The Planning and Zoning Commission requested the developer to do some landscap ing. Mr. Lacy was quite agreeable and told the Commission he had wante d to do landscaping but did not know the Commission's specific guidelines.
FIELD CREEK FORE ST SUBDIVI SION -PRELIMINARY
A preliminary plat of Field Creek Forest located between Leisure Lane and Windingway and consisting of 54-1/2 acre lots: The plat has already been reviewed by the Clear Creek Drainage District and the City Eng ine er but needs to be reviewed by the Police and Fire Departments.
