MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
July 5, 1984
A reg ular meeting of the Frie ndswood Planning and Zoning Commission was held at the City Hall on Thursday, July 5, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. with the follow ing members present.
Miller -Chairman Hoppe Cress Brown Holt Beggs
With a quorum present and with Jones absent, the following business was transac ted.
FRIENDSWOOD VILLAGE -SAN JOAQUIN PARKWAY AND F.M. 528
Greg Hall presented a plat subdividing 55 acres into 4 sites. The property is located on San Jaoquin Parkway and F.M. 528. They would like to develop site 3 and 4 first as a 'retirement facility with 162 units for a total of 18 acres. They are asking for a density of 12 with completion of the development which would be a PUD under the proposed zoning ordinance changes. The Commission advised Mr. Hall the following items need changing before returning with a preliminary.
1.Street name change -conflict with existing streets
2.Entrance to be show n on plat with respect to thedistances between entrance to the development;Sun Meadow Blvd. and Friend sw ood Country Clubentrance.

FRIENDSWOOD PLAZA
A proposed Office development located on F.M. 518 and F.M. 528 to be developed in a C-1 zone. The concern is that under the proposed zoning ordinance qhanges C-1 would be CSC (Commercial Strip Center). They are proposing to build OPD (Office Park Development). The Commission advised the developer this would not be a problem.
FIELD CREEK FOREST -FINAL
A final plat of Field Creek Forest was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission. They were advised they had not made the street name changes requested by the Fire Ma rshal's Office. They are to return to the next Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.
WOODLAWN CENTER
A proposed strip center to be located on F.M. 2351 and Woodlawn. They were advised sidewalks are needed along each side.
MOTION: (Cress) To give approval of a strip Center to be built along F.M. 2351 and Woodlawn.

The Planning and Zoning Commission called a Special Meeting for July 12, 1984.
STRIP CENTER -F.M. 528 AND SUNSET
A drawing of a strip center located on F.M. 528 and Sunset was presented to the Commission.
MOTION: (Cress) To give approval of a strip center to be located on F.M. 528 and Sunset.
SECOND: (Miller) VOTE: FOR: Holt, Cress, Miller and Beggs AGAI NST: Hoppe and Brown MOTION CARRIED

REZONING REQUEST
Mr. and Mrs. Altinger are considering a request to rezone 23 acres located on Briarmeadow and F.M. 518. The property is presently zoned R-1. They are considering lots 45 and 46 to Commercial and Lots 47 and 15 to Multi-family. The Altingers were advised of the procedure for a zoning Change. The Altinger's told the Commission they were going to withdraw their request at this time.
The meeting was adjourned.
