HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1986-07-02 RegularMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION JULY 2, 1986 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission held a regular meeting on Wednesday, July 2, 1986, in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following Commissioners were present. Holt - Chairman Todd Beggs Baker Cress Ballard Beeth (7:30) Councilman Prihoda With a quorum present and with none absent, the following business was transacted. COMMISSIONER TODD ABSTAINED FROM THE FOLLOWING DISCUSSION LEISURE WAY LEISURE WAY - PRELIMINARY Mr. Gartrell and Mr. Horn presented a preliminary plat of a proposed private development Leisure Way. The proposed development is 5 acres located on Windingway and Leisure Lane. As requested by the Commission the following items were changed. 1. Private Drive - renamed Stillmeadow Court 2. Note on Plat: Further subdividing is not permitted 3. Improvements to meet City Codes 4. Pipelines and easements located on the plat 5, Typical dimension on all units 6. 25' building line shown on plat 7. Sidewalks to be shown on plat A letter is to be filed with the City Manager on the utilities and street or drive as previously requested. Page 2 July 2, 1986 MOTION: (BALLARD) To grant preliminary approval contingent on the construction notes being added to the construction plat as requested by the Director or Public Works. SECOND:(BAKER) FOR: Ballard, Baker, Beeth, Holt and Beggs OPPOSED: Cress- feels it does not meet the spirit or intent of the zoning ordinance. MOTION CARRIED MINUTES FOR APPROVAL: May 5, 1986 - approved as corrected May 15, 1986 - approved as read May 1, 1986 - approved as read COUNCILMAN PRIHODA Councilman Prihoda suggested a memo to the City Manager from the Planning and Zoning Commission suggesting the evaluation of having Duane Hengst, Assistant Engineer on the City staff review all preliminary plats in order to reduce the City's cost on engineering services.
