HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1987-02-05 RegularMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION February 5, 1987 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commission held a regular meeting on Thursday, February 5, 1987, in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following Commissioners were present. Holt - Chairman Ballard Hansen Cress Todd Beeth Baker Councilman Prihoda With a quorum present and with none absent, the following business was transacted.. OLIVER S. BROUSSARD SUBDIVISION - FINAL PLAT - 2.5518 ACRES A final plat of the Oliver S. Broussard subdivision was presented to the Planning and zoning Commission for approval. The proposed Broussard Subdivision being 2.5518 acres subdivided into 2 lots ( lot 1 .9955 ac.- lot 2 1.5559 ac.) and located on Murphy Drive. MOTION: (CRESS) To give final approval to the Oliver S. Broussard Subdivision being 2.5518 acres and subdivided into 2 lots located on Murphy Drive. SECOND:(TODD) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED MINUTES FOR APPROVAL December 4, 1986 - approved as read November 20, 1986 - approved as corrected November 10, 1986 - approved as read November 6, 1987 - approved as corrected Page 2 February 5, 1987 Regular Meeting SAVARD - PROPERTY LOCATED ON WILLOWICK Bill Savard presented a drawing of property from the Hoover subdivision. Presently located on the property is a house and a Masonic Lodge. Mr. Savard and approximately 10 others are considering building.a single racquet ball court on the property. The building is proposed to be 22' long and 57' wide. Mr. Savard stated he is not sure the property was ever subdivided but most of the lots in that area are 70x140 . The property is zoned OBD which would allow this type of development under 7997 (membership sports and recreation clubs) of the permitted use table in the zoning ordinance. Mr. Savard was advised if the property has been subdivided he can proceed to obtain a building permit meeting the requirements of the zoning ordinance including parking and landscaping. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN - PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION: NUN", WIN MOTION: (BEETH) Nominated Benny Baker Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission. SECOND:(CRESS) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED VICE CHAIRMAN MOTION: (BALLARD) Nominated Bill Todd to serve as Vice Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission. SECOND: (HANSEN) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED. Page 3 February 5, 1987 Regular Meeting The Commissioners commended Commissioner Holt for his term as Chairman of the Planning and zoning Commission. Commissioner -Cress addressed the Commission saying one of the projects he would like to see the Commission do in the future is to update the City's Master Plan. The meeting was adjourned. Ruth P.
