HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z Minutes 1987-07-02 RegularMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE FRIENDSWOOD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION July 2, 1987 The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Commision held a regular meeting on Thursday, July 2, 1987, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following Commissioners were present. Todd - Vice Chairman Hansen Cress Ballard With a quorum present and Chairman Baker, Commissioners Hines and Beeth absent, the following items were considered. FINAL REPLAT GREENBRIAR ACRES II Mr. Hebert presented a replat of Greenbriar Acres II to the Commission for final approval. Greenbriar Acres II is located on Greenbriar and Fallingleaf. Mr. Hebert is subdividing lot 1 of a 2 lot subdivision (lA, 1B and 2 existing). In reviewing the plat Commissioner Cress pointed out the utilities must be in place for the short form procedure of 5 'lots or less. Mr. Hebert told the Commisssion the utilities are located on Fallingleaf. Duane Hengst,.Community Development Director, told the Commission if there is a utility easement it should be shown on the plat. Mr. hengst feels the surveyor should show any easements on the plat. Commissioner Cress told the group it should be indicated if the water and sewer is in the easement or the street right-of-way. MOTION: (CRESS) To approve the replat of Greenbriar Acres II, holding sign off by the Commission until Duane Hengst has verification of the location of the utilities. If the utilities are in- side the property line the plat does not meet the short form procedures. If the utilities are in the street right-of-way the required Commission signature will be affixed to the plat and forwarded to the City Secretary for recording. Page 2 July 2, 1987 SECOND: (BALLARD) VOTE: UNANIMOUS FOR MOTION CARRIED HOME OWNER RIGHTS The Commission discussed some concerns about several articles regarding another supreme court -ruling. on property owner rights. Commissioner Todd told the Planning and Zoning Commission he forwarded a Letter to City Attorney John Olson, as previousely discussed, requesting guidance on this matter. The meeting was adjourned.
