The Friendswood Planning and Zoning Ccmnission held a special meeting on Monday, July 10, 1989, at 6:30 P.M. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following members were present.
Baker Chairman McHugh Wasson
Ruth Henry -Secretary
Without a quorum present and Hansen, Holzschuh, Cress and Wymer absent, the following items were considered.
PUBLIC HEARING:
Chairman Baker called the Planning and Zoning Ccmnission Public Hearing to order. The puq::ose of the public hearing is to receive public input both oral and written on the following request for a zone classification change:
CSC TO OP -1414 South Friendswood Drive -Lot 42 -1.8 Acres
Several citizens in the audience spoke in favor of the zone classification change.
No one spoke in opposition.
Chairman Baker recessed the public hearing portion of the special meeting.
The Ccmnission reconvened the special meeting of the Planning and Zoning Ccmnission in the Mayor's Office, located in City Hall. Ccrrmissioner Wymer arrived constituting a quorum.
Chairman Baker adjourned the public hearing and opened the special meeting of the Planning and Zoning Cacrnission.
1.Consideration and Possible Reccmnendation to City Council on arequest for a zone classification change of 1.8 acres located at 1414South Friendswood Drive from CSC TO OP.
The Ccmnission made the following rrotion:
MOTION: (WYMER) To reconmend to City Council approval of the above request for a zone classification change. (CSC TO OP) SEXX>ND: (WASSON)

A meroc> to be forwarded to City Council regarding approval of a zone classification change of 1.8 acres located on South Friendswood fran CSC to OP.
The Carmission discussed the requirements of the Office Park Developnent in regard to Drainage. The zoning ordinance spells out the requirements for an OP developnent. At the Planning and Zoning Ccmnission meeting of July 6, 1989, Carmissioner Cress said he feels the office park developnent should meet the drainage requirements of the subdivision ordinance requirements. Camnmity Developnent Director Hengst was to check with the City Attorney in regard to this item. As of 5:00 P.M. Monday, July 10, 1989, Duane had not received the City Attorney's interpretation. The Ccmnission feels a policy should be established in regard to Office Park and made the following rrotion:
IDI'ION: (WYMER) The Office Park is an individual zone classification and must meet only the requirements of the Office Park as spelled out in the zoning ordinance. SEXX)ND: (McHugh) FOR UNANIMOUS
OPPOSED: NONE MaI'ION CARRIED
Chainnan Baker requested a rnerro be sent to Duane Hengst Camrunity Developnent Director and the Mayor and City Council.
The meeting was adjourned.
