MINUTES OF A RffiULAR MEETING PLANING AND ZONING CCM-1ISSION DECEMBER 15, 1988 7:00 P.M.
The City of Friendswood Planning and Zoning Ccmnission held a regular meeting on Thursday, December 15, 1988, at 7:00 p.rn. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The following members were present constituting a quorum.

Duane Hengst-Crnmunity Developnent Director Ruth Henry-Coordinator
Councilman Prihoda
With a quorum present Hansen and Wymer absent, the following items were considered.
Chairman Baker ask Ccmnissioner Wasson since she has a planning background would she consider a chairmanship of a sulxarmittee to guide the Camri.ssion in can piling and preparing information for a Canprehensive Plan. Ccmnission Wasson told the Carmission she would be happy to. Ccmnissioner Wasson ask the Carmission if they wanted to do the work at the regular meetings by setting aside a certain amount of time? The Carmission feels this would be a good idea. Ccmnissioner Cress told the Ccmnission we have items such as Canprehensive Plan by Bovay Engineers (1969), Future Growth Ccmnittee (1982), Friendswcx:.>d Characteristics and Daoographics Survey by Friendswcx:.>d Industrial Developnent Corporation (1985) ,a Master Plan outline (Ccmnissioner Cre ss), and Master Street Plan. It is just a matter of putting it together and adding the missing pieces.
The Ccmnission also discussed inviting citizens to meetings for public input. To have a survey in the newspaper to be filled out and sent to the Ccmnission. Different organizations can be invited to Ccmnission meetings or the Carmission attend organizational meetings and get a consensus of the group.
Carmissioner McHugh suggested inviting Janice Lowe representing the Chamber of Carmerce and a member of the Econanic Developnent Board, along with Paul Maaz Chairman of the Econanic Developnent Board for their input. Ccmnissioner Cress suggested each Comnissioner get out their Zoning Map and zone the City as they would like the City zoned.
Ccmnissioner Wasson said what is needed before the next meeting is for each Ccmnissioner to prepare a list of goals for the Carmunity.

The Cannission went on to discuss that the follO\ving items will be needed in canpiling data for a Master Plan. 1.Standards2.Policies
3.Objectives4, Recarmendations for ordinance changes5.Maps
