Regular Meeting
Zoning Board of Adjustment
June 25, 1991
.Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Zoning Board of
Adjustment of the City of Friendswood which was held at City
Hall on June 25, 1991 with the following members present
constituting a quorum:

Chairman Taylor called the meeting to order.
Chairman Taylor announced that J. A. Banfield withdrew his
application due the passing of the Sign ordinance on June
17, 1991 he was no longer in violation of the law.
Chairman Taylor called for public input regarding request
from Richard Grigsby for a five foot variance to build a
screened in back porch at 1905 Palo Duro.
Richard Grigsby explained that presently he has a slab
extending to 20 feet from his back setback and that he is
wishing to enclose the slab. He presented drawings of the
porch to the board. Discussion followed between Mr. Grigsby
and the board at length.
No representative for Michael K. Love were present at this
time; the public hearing was closed.
**Dr. Tom Sullivan made the motion to grant the variance of
five feet for the construction of screened in back porch at
1905 Palo Duro.
Mary Ellen Bellard seconded the motion. The motion was
approved unanimously.
Tracy Grier, representative for Michael K. Love, arrived at
this time.
Chairman Taylor re -called for public input regarding the
request from Michael K. Love for an encroachment of side
building line for the construction of a detached garage at
location of 702 Flamingo Court.

Tracy Grier stated the slab is poured and the home is
occupied as subdivision plans were approved by the City of
Friendswood. Discussion followed between Mr. Grier and the
board at length.
At this time, the second public hearing was closed.
**David O'Brien, III made the motion to grant the
encroachment on the side building line for the construction
of a detached garage at location of 702 Flaming Court.
Dr. Tom Sullivan seconded the motion. The motion was
approved unanimously.
